found gun, please help id

hehe got me, the striped floor is my basement, im doing a overhaul. when done it will feature a garand room.

Well getting rid of that carpet had to be a good thing!

ive had to give up guns for a while, i doubt ill own another garand ill probably finish building the 3 stripped recievers im setting on and be done with them for the time being sadly enough. i was working for bmw but lost my job due to a string of illnesses verry recently. on top of that im building a hot rod. ive got money, thats not to much of a issue but between all the projects somethings going to have to give until i can find another place to work. id like to get away from automotive work in general but thats all i know so im kinda dead in the water until i find something else. going back to a dealership would be like pulling teeth right now.

this years kinda been a bad year for me any how between looseing my fiance, job, and some legal issues with the police harassing me for driving a 737 hp nitrous injected mustang on the street. setting on my ass dont help to much. i feel useless in alot of aspects.

Hey, come on, how can you be 'useless' when you yanked our chains so good. :D I looked on in horror and disbelief thinking of the film 'Band of Brothers'. And how can you be useless when you probably have the largest colleciton of collectible firearms in the USA? We all told you the girl had to go and you will get over that in time. Plenty of fish in the sea. The job thing is a blow, but take a bit of time off. Everyone needs cars so you will never be out of a job. Pleased to hear you still have that beautiful car, but sorry to hear about the police hassle. They are probably concerned they couldn't overtake you and stop you!

My motto in life is 'things work out'.

eah im ok, i made up my mind today that im going to go get a job at a gun shop in the morning.

You know that is spooky. I thought the same thing after I posted. That would be a job you would be good at, you are knowlegeable in, it would be fun, you would get to handle really good stuff, and have first option to buy, plus you ought to get discount on ammo. Good luck.

Neat map BTW. I have a silk one of Iraq.

I suspect most grandchildren of men who served in WWII are a little older than 17 by now. We should have known.

I picked up on that as well, BUT I'm the son of a WWII vet who was one of the first to walk into Hiroshima during the occupation of Japan. My youngest son is only 14, so this fact didn't get me so excited about a hoax.

The clue to me was the complete idiocy of the first post and each subsequent post. Nobody could be this stupid.

GayonSofa, thanks for a complete waste of my time. You are one of the best trolls I've seen. Even though you admitted to the hoax doesn't excuse the trolling.

its ok, i know i deserved that last post:o

ya gotta have some fun in your life, as much as i love and respect my garands there material objects. just remember they cant love you back. if you look it that way i turned a bad situation (favorite garand blowing up) in to something that alot of people laughed over. now, eather they laughed at my stupidity of butchering a "winchester garand" at the time or they laughed when the truth was told most people got a chuckle from this thread in one way or another.for the people who hate/hated me for this take it as a lession in life, a gun is nothing but wood and iron. it came from the ground and in time it will go back in to the ground just like you and me. lifes short, be happy. the seceret to that is to take life lightly when ever possable.

Interesting photos from your grand uncle. It seems like some of the pictures were taken in the Philippines? Would you have more to post? Very relieved to know that the Garand "incident" was just a prank. :-) By the way, this is my first post!

ive got more somewhere, theres several that we lost somewhere around here that show a bunch of dead japs and several shermans stuck in mud.

heres a photo of some of his medals and such from the war. we havent found his bronze star yeat. i think the 30 carbine round is neat, 44 wra head stamp. i guess he carryed it when he was over there, it shows alot of wear.
