I know. How rude. The least they could have done was put it there before you got there. You’d think that would have been enough of a mindblower on its own.

That's actually covered in that article as well...What's so weird about that is how those time holes occasionally put a swallowed up object back in a different place than where they swallowed it. Happened to me on Monday with one of those old fashioned motel keys that actually go in a door knob. Farging bastages put it at the service desk of a grocery store where I'd been about an hour earlier.
Any chance you are willing to post link to ANY BM-1000 with manual safety as referenced. I searched around and could not find, my comments related to possible version with manual safety were going from only my memory (possibly confusing the manual safety on the Auto-Stryker. The two in your picture (Post #30) do not illustrate a safety. As a reference, the wood chop-stick is pointing to BM manual safety switch example on the Auto Stryker in Post #23 above. I looked up the two model numbers you referenced and read some text related to "integrated safety", however the photo did not illustrate BM Safety Switch on that knife (assume the text reference "integrated safety" most likely relates to the button-lock).From what I see there are at least two authentic versions of the BM Auto Spike with safety, one is a basic/plain version (model 1000S-1301SW), and the other is the Gold Class version (model 10000-101). There are many authentic versions of the BM Auto Spike, so there might be more versions with a safety.

Thx,
They don't show a pic of the back of the knife, the safety is mentioned in the description. So there won't be visible proof from that source.killgar,
Any chance you can share that link ??
I really want to actually see an example, to prove to myself my recollection that BM actually produced a BM-1000 with safety-lock is valid.
Thanks,
put in a photo above after found out how.Gonna need a lot more info and pics.
Its about 17" long, its very rusty, its old....other than that, it could be most anything, including part of a larger tool or blade...Found in the bush, Central Tablelands region of NSW Australia. About 17" long very rusty. Curious about it?
My condolences on the passing of your grandfather. My Grandfather was hunting in the woods (I think about 15-20 years ago) and found a WWII era Cattaraugus 225Q!
Unfortunately he passed a few years ago. it is a cherished heirloom now!
If y’all want I can post pictures tomorrow.
Ain’t enough room in space to hold all of ‘em.My theory is that objects which go missing end up orbiting Pluto, or possibly Saturn, which would explain its rings. Unfortunately, there appears to be no way to send offending politicians into eternal orbit.
Space is infinite.....maybe. That which doesn't fit gets sucked into the black holes.....Ain’t enough room in space to hold all of ‘em.
Sounds like what I posted in Post#44 above ...They don't show a pic of the back of the knife, the safety is mentioned in the description.
But if you go to BladeHQ and do a search for "Auto Spike" the listing is there, that's how I found it.
Any chance you found that in Lafayette, LAFound this one on the side of the road a long time ago while walking my dog in the neighborhood. Soaked in mineral for a long time to get it to open. Need to go back to it, it has been a very long time since the last pic,View attachment 1891908View attachment 1891909 to see if it can be cleaned up and still used.
Sounds like what I posted in Post#44 above ...

Do not believe that to be a safety-lock (as previously mentioned.
THANK YOU !EDIT: Heck, I just noticed they have a video attached to that listing that shows the knife (PE version) with the sliding safety switch. Looks like there were 150 of the plain edge version, with safety.
Got to love the Tramontina...Found a Gerber Covert in it's sheath while hunting in a forest. Gifted it to an old friend.
Found a 12 inch Tramontina machete stuck to a tree. Fell in love and still use it.
Found a military folding shovel buried in sand at the beach. Cleaned it up, oiled it, and it still resides in my vehicle recovery kit.
