Found this on youtube

I believe there was a sign up list for them in the makers area. Its a nifty idea but I'm not really sold on it aesthetically. Then again, I don't even really like firesteel loops on sheaths. I tend to carry a few fire steels stashed here and there and I like the firesteel to be stowed with a bit of tinder. I do like the RAT firesteel kit with the tinder compartment.

Not for me, but actually thought it was clever. O-1, squared spine, rounded handle ~ he put some thought into it. I wonder what the balance is like? The tang is still full which isn't a concern, but keeping it clean inside the handles would be with the O-1.

Nice little tool for sure, but there is just something about it that doesnt sit well to my eye.

Definetly nice find though, useful youtube come far and wide nowadays.

i had seen those in the makers, for sale area.... they don't look too bad... it's a pretty intersting design.... i like the shape of the blade a lot...

I saw them also in the forsale area. Blade shape is nice and a really cool idea. But if moisture gets in the handle I am not sure how great that would be. If he used a great stainless like cpm3v or something, it would probably be better.

Hey, guys, I'm actually the maker of these. Thanks for the feedback and if you have any questions / concerns, feel free to email me. As far as rusting, any blade will rust given conditions, just some more than others. There isn't a concern with moisture getting into the handle as the insert is a sealed acrylic tube with an epoxy barrier. I wouldn't mind popping some out in CPM-154 if there was some interest, so if you do have some special request, you can email my reseller through the website www.goinggear.com. Thanks again for the interest!

 Good to know bro, The whole set up is very innovative, good job and best of luck with your future projects.

Thanks, man, appreciate it. This took some doing a few different protos with the reseller.

I definitely like the design and as often as I can't find any of my dark colored items I want everything I buy to be a bright color from now on.
:thumbup:For the handle color.

I really like the firesteel idea, and the knife is great looking too, I like when the choil is designed right into the handle.

I'm pretty sure you mean CPM S30V :D

I have a Charles May FireMaker in S30V, I've had it since January of this year.

I saw the first prototype almost 2 years ago, and the first one made a year ago. This is the first one made.

These are the two my buddy and I picked up in January of this year. They are both S30V, one with micarta and one in ironwood.

Charlie uses a lanyard to hold in the firesteel, this system is simpler and eliminates any use factors, temperature variables, etc...

I am not knocking the "Sparky" just Charlie has been working on this idea for awhile and he does use S30V.

Wow, you know I've searched and searched trying to come up with ideas for this and the only one I was able to find was the Tool Logic SLPB2. This is first I've seen of Charles', have to do some more research now! Thank you!

Went ahead and emailed Charles, MTF3. The last thing I need is someone accusing me a plagiarizing a design.
