Frame lock WIP/how to.

i still have not finished my first knife yet and i have 3 in the works. i do all my bevels by hand filing and holly crap you blew me away with the technique of using a round file first then a flat. should save me a ton of time!!!! ive searched high and low for a WIP all done by hand like this. really made my night thanks

I can't believe I missed this! A folder is still a while off for me, but there were a few things I learned that I will apply to my current making of fixed blades. Wonderful thread!

THANK YOU for the bump. Wow. Phenomenal.

This is one of the most impressive WIP's I've seen. That is absolutely incredible what you have achieved with just hand tools.

Thanks for sharing and the hard work you put in to show it can be done with with minimal tooling. I have been wanting to build a CRK Sebenza styled folder for sometime but did not know where to begin, however after your wip I believe I can pull it off. Thanks again and grats on the B+

This is an excellent article.

I'd like to see the paper.................. perhaps a pdf could be created and posted somewhere.

Thanks for your hard work on this one

I missed this one too and it is one of the best. Thanks for putting it together, it's really inspiring and shows a lot of useful manual techniques.

I know how everyone feels about resurrecting old threads but I think this one deserves a bump once in a while.

Jason, I'd like to compliment you on this thread. I am shocked and awed by your command of simple tools and by your no-nonsense approach to knifemaking. I shudder to think what you could do with unlimited resources and a shop full of quality machinery.

A very good build tutorial.
I was resurrected one year after it was done....then three years.....and now nearly five years later it gets resurrected again. It is in the BBQ stickies, and does not need a bump. It won't get lost or go away.

This is a most fine piece of work !!!!! The fact it was all "hand" made meaning really hand made has to show the craftsmanship some are capable of. In truth, most of us are just followers.

This is a great thread. I have it saved in my computer and have reread it several times. When I am ready to attempt my first frame lock this will be a valuable resource. Thanks so much for sharing it. I really learned a lot.
