Francisco Vaz’ knives quality check

I can’t imagine how i would feel if I was in J Jagged77 and dylan5188 dylan5188 situation. I will say that I have bought 5 knives from Francisco and they have been nothing but fantastic. I came across this thread, as I wondered where he has been as I haven’t seen his work recently in the Kitchen Knives section. FWIW, I recommend his work strongly and I’ve had nothing but good communications with F fvaz .
 
I deleted my last after discussion with Francisco but we’re now three months further on and still all I have is promises, failed ones at that. No photos, no evidence the knives are even made despite asking. I am hoping Francisco will react and act decisively to provide photos, ship my knives and put this to bed.

Further to the above Vas has promised photos of the knives today. I have asked for evidence of where they are. If not forthcoming I have asked for a refund. Flagging this to Blues Blues to make aware of ongoing issues.

Update, I have received pictures of the knives, finally… it is good to see them.
However I was told back in June they were at DHL but I don’t see how that can be the case.
My publically obtained information shows the airport having been open since the beginning of the year with many daily flights. I just cannot understand why Vaz has not shipped yet. I still don’t know when these are going to be despatched. The whole process is shrouded in mystery and Vaz’s updates are excessively wordy without giving much in the way of concrete information. I am putting this down to a language barrier and hope to get clarity soon.

Edit. I have some more clarity on the situation and some misunderstandings have been cleared up. I will let the process play out.

Jagged, did you ever resolve your issue? I noticed that Francisco no longer has his website up and running; it appeared he was getting back on track with several knives listed for sale. No need to rehash all that has been said about Francisco and his issues after all the flooding and devastation occurred. I was very hopeful he could catch up on all his commitments and build back a avid following; seems people who received their knives were very satisfied.

His site is still up... You sure you have the right site? I too am really hoping he gets his system down. I love the knives I have from him and would love to see him grow into the world-class maker he has the potential to be.

My apologies; I just checked again and it is indeed up and running. Last week I could not access his site a couple of days running. Glad to see he is still making knives.
 
I wish I had some F. Vaz knives to complain about. I ordered (and foolishly paid for) some of his kitchen knives in November 2023, they supposedly shipped in March 2024. I was getting assurances for a while but the last I heard from him was November 2025. He was supposedly going to be 'reaching out to me' shortly thereafter. Nothing since. Last two emails unanswered. Just tried his old bladeforums account but not sure he is still using it.
 
I wish you luck. At this point in time, I don't feel sanguine regarding the odds.
