friction fire starters

anyone gotta link for those fire starters that are a wooden dowel with a rubber o-ring that supposedly you can start a fire with just by pushing the dowel into a tube. i think thats how they work .

Search for a "fire piston". Yup, it works okay. There's a couple of sources for them, including one guy here who has them made from aluminum. Hope that helps.
