We get caught up with locking knives, and they do have their place. But a friction folder or traditional style can be more convenient. When you go to your knife constantly, but don't want to lay it down, a lock is just in the way.
One problem with them is most knives without locks are relatively small. This XL takes care of that. I am looking forward to mine.
That looks as near to perfect as it can be. I've always liked a 4" blade for most applications. Pair that up with a small stockman or a SAK and your needs are covered.
