Recommendation? Friend cannot decide which knife to choose

He went to buy that CS... full tang 3V is full tang 3V - but I don't think that knife is either a good defensive weapon or that full tang or steel would make a lot difference there...

Ka-Bar was after all used in WWII.

I have a KA-BAR 1271 Fighter, it's an excellent knife.
I highy recommend the 1271.

I got Ka-Bar 1211 for 70€, and usually they start from 115€ here. So I'm not complaining on that guy either

I use mine in the kitchen a lot. Definitely one of my favorite fixed blades.

To Smiling’s proposed question- dieing in your sleep isn’t that bad compared to mopping up all the blood off your stuff and the nightmares one would have stabbing a person to death after coming out of a sound slumber in your own house. Besides, I hate Mondays.

Clip point Ka-bar all day everyday- it’s just the right choice.

Also, looking forward to the “pillow sheath”infomercials once this “pillow knife” fad catches on. “Is your combat knife just too uncomfortable to sleep on? Does it leave you tossing and turning? ... “.

Clip point Ka-bar all day everyday- it’s just the right choice.

I agree, it even went through World War 2, so it has to be solid.

I have the 1271 too. Wanted a ka bar, but getting the classical USMC almost felt like stealing a tiny bit of valor. Also, the 1271 appealed to my childish affection for big Rambo-ish blades

Well I wouldn't buy USMC as I'm not a marine or even American. I'd buy the one without the military markings tho.

I love the 1271 it does scratch the Rambo itch, in a good functional way too. The tang construction is very beefy and solid. I like flipping it over and looking at the meaty peened tang on the pommel. Built to last.

Buy two pillows. Put the knife under one and your head on the other.

Then buy the oversized version of the kabar. The big brother or something.
