So if all you care about is forum rules then if I buy 20 of them and sell them on FeeBay for $300 you cool with that right?

Point taken I had not considered that. I am not convinced that reminding people of the rules is a bad thing.

I still think that people that sit on a high speed connection and buy way more than they need for the express intent of resale are breaking the rules.

Letting them know that I intend to call them on it loudly this time around is not a threat. No one needs to worry about what I do unless THEY are breaking the rules.

Note the the title of the post FRIENDLY REMINDER.

Its common knowledge that I am looking for a red one. I think I have treated my quest with good humor and Friendly banter. However some of the greed and profiteering that goes on around here at the expense of "friends" is a little sad. Honestly Guyon...do you see any truth in that at all?

I may not be 100 percent right here...But maybe just a little? :)

The instant profiteering, time and again, does get a little old. But I still would not label those people as dealers and get them banned.

I'm with Cobalt. Selling down the road is better form. So is using extras as trade fodder.

JAB, if I had an extra red GW, it would be all yours at a decent price. I only have the one though.

I'm actually a little worried about mine. Sent it off for kydex to a fellow who has always done good work and treated me right, but he's had work troubles and health troubles since I sent in my knives. Not getting any response on his end, and he's got a red GW and a small custom of mine.

If I can snag a couple tonight, I will... just in case something happens to my original red one.

I also may give my wife one for Valentine's Day if Skunk is up to his usual lightning fast shipping. Of the GWs, she likes the red the best.

I have no intentions of buying any GW's tonight, but if a few come onto the exchange forum in a few days that you think are too expensive don't buy them!

Is that so hard to understand?

When did this become the Socialist/Communist forum?

Fine you don't like the rule so it does not apply to you. Works for me.

IAm not sure how to answer your question. Are you looking for the date Spark put the rule in place? :D

i agree in principal with you matteo, but i also believe a dealer should have the proper membership and sell in the proper forum.

i dont necessarily think the issue is price related. its the sellers intent, they buy many with the intent on selling for profit, nothing else.

though it is hard to prove, circumstatial evidence here would probably suffice for glockman or spark. after all this isnt a court.

i wouldnt agree with you doing that ( i know you wouldn't do it) but forum rules dont apply on ebay.

If you read my post I agree with you about no limits to buying and I have always said this. However, Justabuyer has just as much right to post what he feels and you have no right to tell him what he can or can't post. IF you don't like it good for you. I see his point as well. He's trying to get people to behave with some sort of a heart instead of the "screw you it's all about me mentality."

No of course not.... I already admitted myself interest here. I REALLY WANT ONE RED FREAKING GW. :D

You DA man tony!

This just doesn't happen.

Please point out even one instance when a dealer did a mass purchase and then flipped the Busse knives for a profit.

sweet. I want to thank Justabuyer...

I really wanted to be around tonigh and buy them all up, clean sweep like i did last time. Especially this firehouse model, i want many as keepers of this one, but it looks like i wont be able to be at my computer tonight (something just came up unfortunately). I want to thank Justabuyer for offering these at cost. If i am unable to be around and snag them all tonight... then I will definately take one of your extras (at cost) Justabuyer. Way cool of you to offer.

I'd sell you one too. But what I generally do is look at the guys posts that I'm "helping" and then I'll sell to him at pricing similar to what he sells at. I'm a big beliver in "what comes around goes around"

So I'm not sure what I'd sell one to you for at this point but let me know if you need one.:D

Absolutley.
1st ones mine
2 and 3rd are already spoken for by forum members, next one after that is all yours. That is if I get any at all!

I hope you will return the favor someday to somebody here. I doubt it, I still hope.

I just want to know one thing.

Who IS this girl Cobalt?? Your wife??

Not talking about dealers. We are talking about regular forum members.
And yes it has happened. Matteo you seem so entrenched in your position that you can see no merit to anyone Else's.

For what its worth I see merit in your argument. I too favor capitalism as a general rule. But its not a religion to me.

There is ample precedent for limits on capitalism. Insider tradeing laws, anti-trust laws, just to name a few. If during a Hurricain emergency you raise the price of generators and plywood 5000 percent you are a piece of crap.

Like I say lots of examples. In my mind the behavior of a FEW members here is unsavory, and maybe in violation of forum rules.

So once a again Matteo.... I understand you point.

Am I missing something here JAB? Isn't what members like Ironballs have done in the last two rounds EXACTLY what you're addressing here? I TOTALLY agree 100% with the spirit of what you said, although I might have said it differently. I'm not afraid to name names; what do I care? Let's be honest if we're going to talk about this at all. Ironball's profiteering screw-the-rest-of-you attitude is exactly what this thread is attempting to address. He has admittedly stated that he believes he's a better HOG by doing so, whatever that means. NO REGRETS DOES NOT MEAN THAT, and if you don't believe me just ask the author who coined the phrase, Thatmguy. I think it makes him and everyone else like him who buy and sell this way a total TOOL, and I don't care what anyone thinks of me for saying so.

Thanks for bringing this up JAB.

Whew.

People really want these knives.

If I get lucky...a big if, some of you guys are amazing at this...and get extra knives, it will only be a few extra knives. I want everyone to have one who wants one.

The extras will go to friendly forumites who weren't as lucky. And they will go at cost.

There's not a thing wrong with profit. I simply choose not to profit on INFI. It's a hobby, an avocation, not a vocation. For me.

Stay calm, stay cool, and keep those fingers limber.

EDIT: Whoa! Thanks for the information, Leatherman. I, too, am very new. Had no idea how serious this could be...

How many does one need to buy to be labelled a Dealer by you? And yea I did see a bit of a threat in that post, getting pegged as a dealer here on BF can get a person banned for life. Be very careful who you might point the "dealer" finger at, its a very serious threat.

A person of some wealth might buy 10, 20, 30 or more of one kind of knife, even if the intended use is for "trade bait" this person isnt a Dealer, heck, even if he decides to turn them over quickly he still isnt a dealer.

Sorry for my over concern here, but its a touchy subject, as illustrated in this thread, and you havent been around long enough to get a good feel for the place.
