There are knives made as art knives.
I view knives as art (as well as tools).
I've been interested in knives since I was a kid and that was a Long time ago.
Whether it's a custom, automatic, mid-tech, production, fixed blade or folder, I'm intrigued by the styles, lines and textures of/on knives.
Hence, my photos and manipulation of those photos.

Your photos are creative and the colorizing and stylizing is interesting, so thank you.

But, for a month or more you have been posting these pictures on a daily basis, without any comment, and without any note indicating the maker and model of the knife.

For some of us who subscribe to this thread, and get email notifications on new posts, the frequency of the posts is perhaps too much, and the lack of comments a missed opportunity to educate.

Not trying to poke you in the eye. Hopefully you can take what I mean to be constructive criticism.

Constructive criticism is always appreciated.

I also feel I've gone a bit crazy with the frequency of my posts.
There will definitely be fewer in the future.
As far as my personal preference when it comes to art...I feel "less is more".
My posts will also reflect that idea, going forward.
When I do add posts, I'll add the maker/model info. also.

Thank you for weighing in, as I said, constructive criticism is Always appreciated!

birdave (and anyone else) is absolutely free to post knife photos in whatever fashions they like, as long as they are following the forum rules, and I believe they are. birdave also has a huge collection of beautiful Russian folding knives. With that being said, I personally would much prefer those knives pictured in natural lights / in natural scenes with their genuine and full details shown without any editing, and I believe that would make the knives more attractive to at least some viewers like me. But again, birdave does not need to care even a tiny bit what I (or anyone) like.

I have small collections of Shirogorovs and Cheburkovs, some photos of which I have posted in ChazzyP ChazzyP 's threads "The Bears Den" and "Cheburkov Channel" here on BF. Recently I developed an interest in Biryukov's knives, and recently bought a #10 (Damascus), a #7 (S90V), and a #5 (M398).

I was able to score the #10 and #7 from BF Supporting Dealer Breathtaking Steel Knives Breathtaking Steel Knives , and the cool #5 is now in the on the kitchen table of a friend in St. Petersburg, Russia, until I can arrange its transport to me in Colorado. Just love the look on that one!

I do agree that I've been going wild with a hell of a lot of posts.
There will be fewer coming...less is more, in my opinion.
Stay safe.

Those are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Your #5 is available on their website, but they are not currently shipping to the USA, to individuals, or apparently, to Breathtaking Steel Knives Breathtaking Steel Knives . I am tempted to ask my friend in St. Petersburg to order it for me - the exchange rates are quite good now: 27,000 rubles is US$290 or so. These knives were US$5-600 a year or so ago with a less favorable exchange rate.

I didn't know about this website.
However, I don't speak the language.
Is there an English translation available.
Stay safe.

The link is to the Biryukov website. At the top of the page, in the center, is a flag that can be toggled between the Russian and English language.

I wonder if we can order directly, with no problems, because of what's going on in the world right now.
Stay safe.
