From Russia with Love

It’s here…..

Interesting. Mine is nearly identical (other than mine is S125V), but it doesn't say made in Russia.
Great knife, well made. I carried today.

Well, since this thread's been re-awakened, I'll post a couple Cheburkov's I've acquired in the last year--the Hudson (Gudzon) last March and the Leader Lightweight in August. The former is a frame lock with an all-CF show side, similar to a Shirogorov Hati, while the latter is CF both sides and a cleverly designed liner-less liner lock, of the same construction as the all-CF Strizh.

This is the one I really wanted, the blue, but all I could find is read. The damascus is nice, but I'm happy with the S125V. I wish AB made smaller models. This is the smallest I've seen, and its 3.8" blade length. I prefer something smaller, like 3.5" and under. However, I love my #12.

Also, have you tried disassembling yours? The pivot seems to take an odd size torx, like between T8 and T9.

I haven’t yet disassembled it, but I plan on doing it over the weekend.

The red is also beautiful. TBH, I had a hard time choosing between the two colors. I will say this, the action is as smooth as butter.

I like blue better than red, though green is my favorite. I want a damascus Cheburkov Russkiy if in green but I doubt I'll ever find one.

I know this threads title is, From Russia With Love, so I'm posting some CKF knives that I've done some buffing on.
I also know that the machining is done in China, with the finishing done in Russia.
I'll gladly remove the picts., if they don't belong in this thread.
Thanks for looking.

Could be that Biryukov is using Torx Plus instead of Torx now.

As an example, a T8 driver will fit into an IP8 socket--Inside Plus is the Torx Plus designation--but feel sloppy while the same size IP driver will not go into a regular T socket of the same number.

On the other hand, some cheaper screws can have socket heads machined outside of standard tolerances.

Checking my Biryukovs for any Torx-style screws, only my #9 liner lock has any of that type fasteners, attaching the scales, while my other two--frame locks both--have only his proprietary 3 lobe pattern fasteners. The #9's scale screws are regular T8's, and a good fit at that, but I believe that knife to be one of his very early folding models.

Thanks for that information. My sigma is about two years old and has the proprietary fasteners also.
