Front Flipper Fans?

Just picked up this Pena, it's amazing.

My first foray into the front flipper world. At first I found it frustrating, and thought I didn’t have the manual dexterity needed , but it’s actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. High fidget factor on this one

I also kind of really enjoy front flippers if they are done well, which from what Ive seen so far is going pretty well for most companies doing them. I have a Boos Blades Smoke TM1 and it is absolutely great to flip in almost any manner you choose.

Since you guys are pretty well versed on the subject, what do you think about this one? At first glance?

Nothing fancy but it's a fun one to fidget with, has 3 ways to open and 1 is the front flipper

I have so much to say regarding front flippers…but I don’t want to come off as a snob. Haha.

At first glance there are a few things that I’m not a fan of. One is the tab sticking way past the top…I won’t even consider a front flipper with this feature.
Second would be the fact that the blade is flush with the scales at the front when closed, which is why the long tab would be neccessary.

It’s a good place to start though.

I’ll keep the rest of my thoughts on front flippers to myself for now. :)

FF snob comment coming - the smoke is not a ff. It is a weird top opener type. ☺️

Hey, snob it up! I will admit I didn't like the tab sticking up so high myself, but I actually did a lot of cleaning up and shortening it to get to that point. You're right though, since I made it flush with the handles in the closed position, (to give it a cleaner package look) it needed a portion at the top. I may can adjust it some more but if I shorten it, it'll need to move over to the center and that might affect lock up position, etc. But feel free to shoot me a pm and we can chat it up!!

And to be fair, Boos himself states its a front flipper on his site 🤭.I'd say it's a half-breed between the two but im no expert!
