Front versus back pocket carry

I've carried in my right rear pocket for about 12 years now. It works for me. I always see guys having to un-clip their knives from their right front pockets when they need to get something out of the bottom and I laugh at them. I laugh! :D

Its funny, I hated having my knife in my front pocket for just that reason for years. I probably back pocket carried for 10 or 12 years, but then I lost a knife. In the 3(ish) months I've front pocket carried I've had one get accidentally pulled and temporarily lost. I started because I thought it would be more secure, but now I'm not 100% sure and back is much easier, more comfortable, and convenient (I actually prefer right handed tip up for my back left pocket as a lefty).

Inside waist band at 12:30. Always, everything that will fit. Carried a khukri like that for a while once. Once.

Para 2 in left rear pocket. I clip it on the very outside of the pocket so I'm not sitting on it. Works very well.

Benchmade snap clip sheath worn horizontally at 11 o'clock (I'm left handed) with Benchamde 300SSN inside.

Like most of the other normal folks here ;), I carry mine in my front right pocket, which is the only thing in that pocket.

I prefer back pocket for several reasons already mentioned. I hate having it eat up a lot of space in my front pocket. If you get a knife that is slim enough, it doesn't bother you if you are sitting on something cushioned (car seat, couch etc).

General rule of thumb for me is smaller knives got tip up in the front pocket (Spyderco Chaparral, William Henry EDC10, Kirby Lambert Scorpios) and larger knives go tip down in the right rear pocket (Spyderco PM2, ZT0560, Hogue EX02).

My "going to the city" EDC positions are -
1) Buck 484 clipped LF.
2) Buck 482 deep RF.
3) 3.5" - 5.5" Fixed of the day on RH).
4) Small "looks like a key" on key ring.
5) Gerber FG504 on a neck lanyard in case I can't get to any of the others due to a jammed seat belt.

Never in either rear pocket. Wallet takes up RR. 2 DVDs and extra business cards LR.

All of them. FR FL RR RL and IWB 6 o'clock. Also, small of the back, horizontally mounted with Tek-Loks.

Not all at the same time. Usually two or three. The right rear pocket is probably the most out-of-the-way when not needed, and in addition is the best place for a right-handed draw of a zip-tied Spyderco.

FR works just fine for Emersons.

If you're worried about losing knives, try tighter or deeper clips. The lower the center of gravity, the less likely it is to work its way out of your pants. Guess that applies to many things.

Also tucked into both boots, alternating between inside or outside depending on the knife and how it carries against the calf. I spend a lot of time on my feet, so the RR RL and small of back carry may be unsuitable for you, especially if you sit at work. I've found when crawling, the easiest to get to can be RR, RL, boot or neck.

My knives fight for pocket/belt space with my lights. Usually there's about an equal number of each. Lights tend to fall more easily, given that not all of them have clips, and round long bodies get snagged/fall out of pockets more easily.

When I carry folders, I prefer they be in my front pockets. I don't really like accidently sitting on my knives haha.

Left pocket support side (knife carry side) delica pocket clip and military waistband clipped. Strong side (gun side) is reserved for my Glock 23 and 23 only. One isn't carried without the other which is always, and always carried in this manner for muscle memory.

Front right for my primary blade, rear left for my secondary/utility blade.

Well said. That is exactly why I carry my knife in my LF pocket or left side sheath. Quite often (because of where I live - woods, not urban) I have my H&K .45 on my right and so knife - sheathed or clipped - goes on my left. So, muscle memory being what it is, even when I'm not carrying a firearm the knife stays on my left.

Front. I use heavy duty tan canvas Dickies work pants now and then. I use the pouch pocket by the side of my knee to hold a folder. But the problem with that is when I crouch and bend at the knee the folder tends to get pushed up and out.
