Front versus back pocket carry

This would have been a good one for a poll....

I carry a one-hand folding knife in my front right pocket, and a tradition (always my Victorinox Waiter) in my left front pocket.

The OHFK is always the only thing in my RF pocket to avoid scratching and unnecessary wear etc.

The Vic is doomed to rattle around with keys and change.

If I choose to carry a traditional that is more treasured for it's aesthetics, I carry it in a pocket alone.

Always been a right, front pocket carrier for any of my folders, big or small. Phone in the right, front as well with wallet and keys in the left, front. Both back pockets stay empty.

Well said. That is exactly why I carry my knife in my LF pocket or left side sheath. Quite often (because of where I live - woods, not urban) I have my H&K .45 on my right and so knife - sheathed or clipped - goes on my left. So, muscle memory being what it is, even when I'm not carrying a firearm the knife stays on my left.

A. I don't accidentally draw my knife on the right when I intend to draw my pistol or vise versa B. My GenoTac kydex holster prevents smooth deployment of my Spyders from the right
C. If I needed to retain my pistol in defense but still deploy the knife I can smoothly do so from my left and use it. D. Muscle memory.
This is what works for ME and its MY system. May not work for others but this is a topic that's great for open discussion.
Off the topic but neck, boot and appendix are great carry methods too.

From my first knife with a pocket clip 20 years ago I've carried right front pocket.

I carry a wallet in my back pocket, and it gets squashed and rounded to match my rear end. I can't imagine carrying a knife back there. My rear end would try to bend the knife and the end of it would poke holes in my pocket and poke holes in whatever I'm sitting on.
