i just received this yesterday , it's a Full Flat Grind Endura4 with ZDP-189 steel blade . i initially was hesitant to buy it because i never held an endura model before . when i opened the box , saw it and held it , my first impression was "wow , spyderco hit another home run with this awesome knife" . another surprise was the FFG , when i ordered the knife a few days ago i thought i was getting a saber grind which is good , but i have been a fan of the FFG since buying my calypso Jr some years ago . i used my mini torx set to move the clip to the upper back (screw side) of the blade . today i will be putting the finishing touches on the edge , i will break out my 3000 and 6000 grit waterstones and leather to strope .

p.s. to Sal , Kristi and all of spyderco , i am a spyderco fan (like eveyone else in here) and the only knives i will EDC are spyderco's , keep up the good work !!!

this knife weights 3.25oz (92.3g) .

Where the heck did the flat grind ZDP blade come from? Is Spyderco changing the grinds or is this a one-off?

i just saw another post where someone else also received a FFG yesterday , i don't know how many will be FFG or if all new ZDP models built will be FFG , but this is a step in the perfect direction for this knife !

I just read the thread about flat grind blades coming, I think that's great. The only one they should keep in saber grind is the Emerson wave models imo(stronger tip).

That other FFG ZDP is a Krein regrind, so it's a custom job unlike yours. It'll be interesting to see how that knife slices!

i agree , the FFG really suits the regular endura4 model .

I thought the only FFG grind was the Endura/Delica with G10 handles.
This is worth investigating.

Full flat grind? That's awesome. I was looking to order a spyderco endura from Walmart but i don't want a cheaper or older model just to save a few dollars. Who sells the full flat grind enduras?

Right now you have to have someone like Tom Krein regrind them after buying it, but next year Spyderco is having a couple of sprint FFG Delica and Endura runs in 5 colors. Probably won't come in ZDP though.

Is that a new variation, or the leftovers from someone's "FrankenSpyder project? Does it say ZDP-189 on the blade tang, or just on the box?

Ok, then is that a Krein Regrind logo or a Spyderbug on the blade? Can't tell for sure from the pic.

It still has the Spyder logo, which wouldn't be there if it was Kreined. The British Racing Green is dark enough that it can look black in pics.

The mystery deepens...
