  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Full Liner on a PARA 2 orange

The fake orange "Paratrooper" from the known fake Chinese knock off artist sell for $31 FWIW. And looking at their many detailed pictures, this looks exactly like what he has, in particular the way the locking tab is cut.

This is most definitely a fake. I have one. Check out the plunge line, it's straight as where the real is notched. The thumb relief for the compression has sharp cut lines where on the real it's rounded off. The half skeletonized liner is a tell tale of the older fakes but it is no longer the case. The jimping is wrong the pivot screw is wrong and it has the same fake date stamp as my fake. I made a video showing the differences. I'll get it up in a sec

How safe is Amazon?

If it is shipped and sold by amazon then it is safe they get it from the same places that all the other legit dealers get them from. And even if it is fake witch is extreamlly unlikely amazon has a 0 questions asked returned policy. Also if its shipped by someone else but sold by amazon its usually safe because amazon guarntees the product to be legit and free of defects. Also if you see anything suspicious on amazon if you contact their Customer service and show them the evidence that its fake they will put a big warning lable on the item until they investigate it to prove if it is or isnt real.

The locking tab is quite a bit different. There is also some deformation on the fake on the underside of the tab. Not sure the exact role that area plays, but that knife could become unreliable. Also, the fake does not have that little imperfection on the liner that has been discussed before as a product of an assembly process.

That. The molehill that some people make a mountain out of.

Not at all. As has been said about a million times all over this site.....Stick with legit dealers. Amazon, Ebay, and such are a place you beg to get your butt drilled.

If the item is sold by Amazon, it should be fine. The uncertainty is that there are a lot of other vendors selling under the Amazon umbrella, and they are not nearly as predictable. Knives are the least of the problem, btw. Fake memory cards and batteries, for example, are not uncommon.

lol what if its real though....maybe its just someone at the factory playing around and the op has a knife that is unique, how can anyone tell with minor differences. the para2 is not a sebenza, its under $150, they may not all be the EXACT same.....all circumstantial of course but just send it in to spyderco for warranty stuff they will be able to tell if it is their own product....wont they?

Oh stop it...

Beware with Amazon. A lot of sellers sell through Amazon with whom Amazon never even touches the merchandise. There are items sold though Amazon.com, but shipped from the seller itself. I'm not speaker of knives specifically, but just of Amazon in general.
Just this week I received an item (not knife related) that I had purchased from Amazon that was a counterfeit but advertised as manufactured by a well-known American-made manufacturer. I promptly logged onto Amazon.com and returned it and explained it was a fake in my return request.

Again, like so many people have said before you posted this..

If it's shipped and sold by amazon, you're safe.

Sold by xx and fulfilled/shipped by amazon, be careful
