I've never been much of a fan of serrations, but I recently descovered how crazy sharp they can be. That being said I'm thinking about getting a fully Serrated knife. Maybe a Spyderco or perhaps a cold steel. What would you guys suggest for my first fully Serrated knife?

Crazy sharp until it gets dull... Then, crazy dull until you throw it out. Serrations? Meh.

ZDP-189 Endura or Delica. Rare and hard to find but by all means pocket chainsaws.

Serrations? Spyderco IMHO. Especially the ZDP Endura 4.:cool:

Cold Steel's serrations will bend or break right off pretty quickly in my experience. I reground the gunsite serrations to remove the damage so they are flat-topped almost like a standard V -edge (if that makes sense:rolleyes::confused:) but still serrated; it has a slight back bevel on the back of the serrated area. They cut like crazy now; no snagging, bending or breaking off LOL.

Kershaw's scalloped serrations seem to perform well but I still like the Endura 4 ZDP's better as they seem thinner ground and have a closer/smaller pattern overall compared to my VG10 Endura 4 FWIW.

Never cared for the aesthetic but no denying the function. Always wanted an AFCK w/ full serrations (Ironic, one was the subsect of much recent drama). And always like the Spyderco Jumpmaster, would make a fine river/ocean knife..as well as the ...Autonomy..? (Is that right?)
Full serrated auto.

I have alwAys had a partial serrated in EDC rotation. BM 910 and 970.

I'm not a big Spyderco fan most of the time, but they do the fully serrated thing very well. I have the combo edge Cold Steel Recon 1 spear-point, and would consider the fully serrated version of that if I had the need for it. If you want to keep things fairly inexpensive, I believe that Ontario makes a serrated version of the Utilitac.

I had an XM -1 (aluminum fat version LOL); nice plain edge knife IMHO but what is this:

Interesting Tanto/serrated Utilitac:

That gunsite looks 100% better for cutting. I had the same experience with cs serrations, the teeth protrude way too much and snag/bind.

Microtech has a nice pattern, big scallops.
