Hi folks- :)

I guess this is sort of a randomish update for the handful of guys around here that would care.

We've had a tough year here, for a variety of reasons that I don't need to share with the entire world... but let's just say things could have been easier (story of everyone's life eh? ;) ).

We hadn't had reliable phone and internet service for at least 8 weeks, so keeping up on communication was NOT working.

Well.... it looks like we finally have reliable service again... so I just wanted to take a minute and share that I am whole-heartedly invested in this craft, and busting my ass to not only keep up, but to try and get ahead.

Thanks :)

A damascus integral for Les

My 150# and 160# shop supervisors!!! :)

I think it's fair to say that all three of these qualify for "Big Bad Mamba-Jamba" status... ;) Left and middle are as forged, right has had scale knocked off bevel and profile trimmed up a bit.

With a 1" X 12" steel rule for size comparison... It's 0.375 at the ricasso

man, your shop is looking great! Must be nice to be able to have more room eh.
It's not too greedy of me to want more than one WheelermadeTM knife, is it?

I've seen those puppies.....and they are Monsters :p

( oh, I mean the Newfs!)

the knives look pretty cool as well

Glad you are able to make lemonade from the lemons, Nick !

Fantastic Nick!! Can't wait to see these all finished up. Love the 'pups' and for healths sake man, get a window unit AC to help curb the heat some... ha. :)

Oh, and let me know if any of these are NOT spoken for and perhaps I can put my name on one.

Something is not right. I couldn't see your reflection on the surface of that Nimba. You are slacking Nick.

Great looking blades in the works there my friend.

Robert

Thanks for posting Nick. I hope you'll find the time to update us on your creations. I love the lines on that damascus integral. Great looking knives...all!

Sweet pups! :D

Ha, thanks guys :)

The pups are pretty gigantic. Most people think I'm exaggerating their size/weight until they come to our house and actually see them, LOL. Pretty much the definition of gentle giants though (other than when they spazz out about meeting someone new!).

Lorien- I sure hope that's not too greedy! :) And thank you, the shop is so much nicer to work in, and it's not even close to being set up proper yet. There's 1,000 sq ft on the other side of that wall that's only serving as junk storage at the moment. Just waiting for the planets to align so we can get it all set up and spread out.

Eric, usually I put my name on them, but we could probably work something out. :p :D Seriously though, thanks Eric! I'm sure we can figure something out. :)

Joe- I hope you have fun at the Gathering! Wish Angi and I could have made it down there!!!

Cal- Thanks! The integral is a blend of Coop's integral and Jon Klein's bowie. It's a fine twist pattern.... "maiden's hair" I suppose. I'm excited to get it completed.

Robert- I know right!?! LOL A while back, I hammered on a couple of blades that came right out of the salt bath, and the salt corroded the anvil like crazy. I dressed it out, and afterward I put cold blue on the anvil--- it has protected it, but it's not my favorite color (shiny) anymore! ;)

Thanks folks! :)

Nice looking beginnings Nick. Looking forward to seeing these complete.

Great shop and love your dogs. I'm particularly fond of Newfies. Back in Nova Scotia, there was one who wandered the local beach visiting everyone while doing the rounds, slobbering on everyone and leaving a trail of stink behind him.. Ha Ha... what a great dog..

we had a newfie and her name was Ming. I was in my mid teens. Beside my one and only dog, Rider, (RIP) she was the best of dogs. Super loyal and loving, a ton of fun. Literally. My brothers and sister were little kids, and they'd take turns trying to ride her around the yard. Seeing the pics of your now grown up pups brought back some very fond memories.

Sweet! Those are going to be fantastic blades!

After my visit I can attest to the size of your dogs. What a couple of gentle giants! :D

Looking forward to seeing some updates! And e-mail me when you want help putting that other 1,000 sq ft together!:D

I can't wait to see that maiden's hair integral all polished up. That will be NICE. It's good to see you working with some elbow room around you!
