Ohai, don't drop that in the hole, you'd have to 'fish' it out... :D

Cool pic btw, very cool Brrr...

Not in that picture I don't.
Once the linen micarta is wet,the texture becomes like fine sandpaper.
Very grippy, even if coated in fish slime, mud, blood, etc.
Even though,I sometimes have a "quick lanyard"(zip tie and light rope) attached around the choil/top finger dip area if need be.
Also,I usually have my 16 with me in the 'yak, not the 1-7,as both knives fit my "poor mans flipper" sheath.
I will be making up some lanyards over the weekend, stay tuned.

Made a couple of these up on the weekend.
Looks a bit agricultural, but does the job.
Simple, cheap, strong, easy to make and they work.
(Just like my flipper sheath)
Coil is 1/8th inch trimmer line, about 4 feet long.
They also work well for other tools in the 'yak,or even as lanyards for the fishing rods, paddles etc.

Thankyou pjsjr,I made about a dozen and gave a few away to other 'yakers and a few to some pro diver guys I know.
Looking at eveled's post,I may have to send him one as I would hate for him to lose his knife down that hole.:D

Out in the kayak on Sunday.
Trying out the new Ugly Stik and Shimano reel.(Sienna 1000)
1-7 on board as usual.

While changing the lure,I heard the reeds behind me move.
Looked around to see this guy checking me out.(Apologies for the poor pics and reflection)

Triple treat today!
From the left:-
My old 5-6
Kristy's 5-6
My 1-7.

Kristy's 5-6 is one I rehandled earlier this year from stag which had split.
She brought it by on the weekend to have a "handle adjustment".
I gave the handle a bit more of a drop by removing quarter inch off the top towards the pommel,to be more like my 5-6.
Also cut 1/8th inch off the pommel,to shorten it up a bit.
Tapered the sides a bit more, and rounded the whole lot a bit more.
(Of course I did all this at no charge, just to see her and the knife again were payment enough)

Hard to see in the pic,but Kristy's is starting to show a few scratches, and an even,if light, patina on the 01.
Still scary sharp, and good to go.
