If you are interested in Native culture, you would probably really enjoy a stop at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump near Fort MacLeod, about 160 km south of Calgary. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site where Native hunters killed buffalo by herding them over a cliff. It has an excellent and informative interpretive centre, and is well worth a visit.

Made me a few more darts last week. Im going for a record. These darts are like between 3 and 4 ounces total weight. They are superlight for distance or small light game squirrel, bird, etc. I tried three different fletching styles to see what might work better. I even tried one with two fletchings but twisted them to get some spin action on the dart. Dont know if it will work worth a crap but we will see.

I also made me an official ISAC (international standard accuracy contest) target. My dog is helping me hold it down till the glue cures:D Your supposed to put it a standard distance away and height and such and you can keep your score officially that way. Dont know if I want anyone to know that yet tho:rolleyes: Theres guys that can hit the ten circle nine out of ten times regularly from about 60 feet or so. Thats like hitting a rabbit almost every time! Pretty dang impressive if you ask me!! If you hit something with these darts they are toast! Keep in mind they were killing elephant size critters with them.

Hows it going Pugs? Sure am excited to see how your darts are coming along. I bought me some pine and oak dowells to make some solid darts but havent done much with them yet. I even knapped me a nice point for one killer hunting dart.

This point is made from Pedernales flint from Texas andis about 4 1/2" long and sharp as hell. IT WILL KILL!!! Ill mount it on a forshaft and keep it for a hunting only point. Ill update a pic of that when its done. OK!...Gone Mastadon hunting. Wish me luck!

good luck with that mastodon, i hear they are sneaky and can hide behind small bushes, pebbles, saplings and grass stems, etc by holding their breath in.
you will need a CITES certificate to do anything with the tusks, may be hard to get one. probably could get a pretty penny for fresh ones in your local chinatown tho.
i hear mastodon gall bladder juice is worth it's weight in gold.

Yeah. They all got GPS now. Some even got them new ifones with them homosapien locater aps and such. Technologie really does suck! Guess they would be extinct if they didnt have it tho. Ill have to try that gall bladder juice tho. Pozed to be good for them manly things ya know!

them little blue pills are cheaper, but them chinese traditional medicine triads still convince people to use the body parts of endangered species, tho they are actually controlled by a gang of pandas in the bamboo jungle. you never hear of the chinese using panda parts medicinally now, do you? i've actually seen one of them riding around in his gas turbine powered 4-wheeler! gps/satnav/ am/fm/dab radio, video player, broadband and all. even had a pop-up .30 gatling gun hidden in a side compartment. he had a nice lookin' khukuri on a baldric too. the only aminal worse are them 'domestic' cats with opposible thumbs and IQs near 200. all them bond film documentaries you think it's the bad guy stroking his pet cat, no, the cat was the real mastermind with a pet human. evil things, cats, always plotting how to kill you. my dog poppy told me how evil they are.
