PayPal is simply codifying what was already in place. Income is taxed.
The “nonsense” is pretty much just complaints from people who want to use the service Paypal provides without paying for it.
Some people think that since PayPal has become a very large corporation that stealing their services is ok and the agreement they signed is void because they don’t want to play by the rules they agreed to.
