Fusion Battle Mistress - Distress

i will have to think about this after i sober up. before then i hope cliff gets involved and irons it out with rtiger2. sadly, i don't think cliff has actually put any of the busses with corrugated bevels through testing so it will remain a theoretical argument. i do wish we could see two otherwise equivalent blades (one with and one without the bevels) put through the paces of some semi-scientific testing on which comparisons could be more practically based...

is anyone else corrugating their blades Jerry, or is this an old technique handed down from Merlin during a JW Blue out of body experience?

Sounds like some of y'all need to start buying your peanut butter in the wide-mouth jars now that the FBM has been released. :D

As far as I know, some kitchen knives use similar concept called scallops. They reduces friction and actually PREVENT stuff gets stuck on the blade when cutting. Because of the hollow space, there is no vaccum to hold the sliced stuff on the blade.
These kitchen knives with shallow scoops removed from the primary bevel behind the cutting edge are often called "Granton edge" knives among manufacturers and vendors. The difference being that the scalloped cutouts on the Granton edges are perpendicular to the edge, while the Busse bevel grooves are parallel to the edge.

It is interesting to note that both the Granton indentations (slicing) and the Busse grooves (chopping) are perpendicular to the direction of the intended motion of the blade.
