Future Becker knives

Just curious about something. How much bigger is the BK1 in terms of length than the BK9? I get that KA-BAR is restricted by the size limitations of the machinery they've got on hand, but just how big are we talking?

I'd love to see some new designs on smaller blades as well. Perhaps some high end alternatives within the Becker line.

How about a recurve 9... Kinda like the ontario ns 9 kind of an in between of the 9 and 4 ... I understand that would probably never happen but becker handle on that blade type would make an awesome woods blade

I really want to see some kind of long blade, like 15" +. I mean I have a 9 and I REALLY want a PM but I've been blown away with all my Beckers quality, so I would buy a big chopper in a heartbeat.

The BK 1 has a 9.5 inch blade I believe opposed to the 9 inch BK 9

The brute is not being held up by size restrictions. That is not the reason at all, it goes way deeper than that. That's all I am gonna say.

The BK6 however just might be held up because of the size limitations and production costs. Really wish this one would have made a comeback.

The knives are basically the same size. From the top is the BK6, BK1, BK9, and BK4.

I guess I am the only dweeb who wants to see another smaller blade from Uncle Ethan. :D A 3 3/4 or 4 inch spear point, 1/8" - 5/32nd" thick, 1" - 1 1/8" wide, FFG, 1095 bushcraft knife...w/fatter grivory scales than the 16, no exposed pommel necessary. Oh well. Unrequited dreams! :p

I think that would be the 12....or close enough.

I always forget about the BK12. I always think of it as the Ritter knife even though it is a Ritter/Becker collaboration. So far the price and the brass weights have kept me away from it. I know Rowan heat treat is great but I haven't been let down by K-bar's Becker's yet.

IMO (and almost everyone else who owns one), the 12 is a GREAT blade; and is very much Ethan's design. Weights? Don't know if they do much, but don't detract, either. Blade shape/size is near perfect...also IMO. It's just a great blade, and my favorite Becker (although the 9 & the 4 are close behind). Haven't had a chance to handle a 10, but I have a 2 and the 12 beats it hands down, and since I bought mine used, it was a very good value. Even new, a good value, IMO. Worth considering and saving up a little extra for. Most owners of the 12 would probably concur, I believe.

I concur! The 12 is one of the most bad ass blades in the Becker line up. The 7 is nothing compared to the 12. The 10 is something but the 12 still wins.
