Here is another fun poll. These are some Chris Reeve models that do not exist, and are not planned (that I know of), but have been discussed from time to time. I thought it would be interesting to gauge support for these concept knives. This poll is multiple choice so choose as many as you like.

I should mention that I tried to make the choices here realistic, and in the spirit of CRK. Of course I would love a CRK Swiss army knife, and a Damascus Nyala with mammoth slabs (that no living human could afford), or a CRK out-the-front automatic, and a CRK battle-axe in Elmax, but I doubt any of those would happen. CRK makes knives similar to those listed, including black/grey coated knives (just not folders). These are choices I can somewhat imagine as possible.

No offense, but most of the poll options are just as likely as a CRK battle axe. Different locks for a Sebenza? The Sebenza IS the framelock; it doesn't make sense without it. I know the super steel option is going to get a lot of votes, but if you've ever heard Chris talk about it, it goes against his idea for the Sebenza, which is a no nonsense working knife that anyone can sharpen. I'd be shocked if we ever saw a super hard steel.

Of the options you have, I'd like to see a large Mnandi, or a small 25, especially with inlays like the annuals. But what I'd like to see most is a wharncliffe (or insingo-like) Mnandi.

No offense taken. Not in my wildest dreams did I suspect my poll options would please all of the CRK crowd, or meet with resounding agreeance as all the right choices......but nothing ventured, nothing gained, and hopefully its fun regardless. Chris Reeve has produced other locks, and he's gotta be getting sick of framelocks by now. I wouldn't put it past him to mix up the lock mechanism at some point, or make a slip joint for the Brits etc. I agree with you about the Insingo Mnandi, but its too late to edit the poll. I am glad you like the Mnandi large idea. That was my vote.

I'm wondering if a large 25 Insingo will be made. I would probably buy that

I went with the Insingo Damascus. I asked CRK about one and they said one was not yet available. I have yet to get even a plain insingo. But I know a large insingo is in my future at some point.

Insingo with a opening hole rather than a thumbstud .....

Heresy I know, I'll just go and tie myself to the stake to get burned.

This poll was one of the harder ones and I almost chose flipper, but I would prefer the hard steel. I think the classic thumbstud of CRK is good because I would not want every knife I own to be a flipper, plus the Sebenza looks classy the way it is.

This is a multiple choice poll, just so all are aware. Once you make your choice(s) however the software does not let you choose again.

I voted Mnandi Large. A S90V sebenza would be great though. However, the thing you are missing on the poll that I would have voted for instead is a 25 insingo with Micarta or CF inlays.

ETA: didn't realize it was a multiple choice poll.

These were my choices:

  • small 25
  • small Umnumzaan
  • Sebenza flipper
  • Umnumzaan flipper
  • s90v CRK
Please Chris, make some of these happen.
I WILL BUY ALL :D

Oh...keep or add the bushing system to all

I was just thinking last night i really wanted my first really nice sebbie and decided to see if i could get a dammy insingo. After looking this morning found out no such beast exists, so that is where my vote went. Also for the s90v hard sebbie.

I'm glad others support the idea of a large Mnandi. That's my fantasy blade. Also glad to see the lock-back concept has some supporters. The beauty of a lock back is the slabs can be identical/symmetrical and clean. Also the handle can be more comfortable than an open slab design with the solid spine. I doubt CRK would make that, but I'd buy a lock- back sebenza if such a monster was born.

I'd really like to see a small 25 - the ceramic ball lock face is a genuinely worthwhile innovation that I would like to see spread to the other models.

I voted for the lockback. A well executed lockback is my favorite lock type, and crk would do it right! It also gives two nice places for wood inlays......

I voted for the different colored micarta inlays. In my humble opinion this should be one of the easiest things to do and it makes sense. The sebbie has always been an elegant worker....why shouldn't the micarta match different clothes, bits of gear or whatever color one wishes?

A flipper would be nice but I'd prefer it on a sebenza because I think the blade would look really nice with no thumbstud (not that the current thumbstud is an eye sore, but my favorite thing about flippers is the clean blade many have). This would not be possible with the Zaan as it uses the studs as the stop pin.

I'd also love to see an Insingo with wood and ivory inlay options. In fact, this is what I want more than anything.

An Insingo with damascus and wood inlays is my fantasy knife, more specifically river of fire damascus and either lignum or box elder inlays.

A steel upgrade would be nice but I already consider the damascus an upgrade, Devin Thomas really knows his stuff and AEB-L is one of the most underrated, under used steels IMHO.
