Insingo Damascus, hands down!
Then the Sebenza HARD cause I'd love to try one out, and finally a small Umnum cause I love the key holder that Haze made in the shape of an Umnum and I think that in both the standard blade shape and the tanto it'd make a sexy knife.

Great thread idea!

Plain Mnandi. No inlays, just lightweight slabs of Titanium goodness. Tough and light as a feather.:D

I voted for the Zaan flipper, but honestly I'd more like to see an aftermarket blue or bronze anodized clip to match the thumb stud and lanyard pin hardware.

I would also like a more edc friendly mnandi. With micarta, g10, or just plain titanium.

Well I suppose it would be a niche market that would buy a serrated umnumzaan. Not a single vote! I think that's interesting. I don't like serrated knives, but with the umnum being pseudo-military I thought that might have some support. Also interesting to see not much support for the G10 slab. I have never liked the Strider and Hinderer 'half-plastic' look, and I guess most CRK fans feel the same. I suppose there is benefits to the G10 scale that I'm not aware of, but at the same price range as CRK, I've always thought the G10 scale was a bit of a let down (my apologies to the forum member who'd like to see this. I suppose its an opportunity to add some colour)

From the two polls I have posted ('what do you miss' and 'future knives') I gather that if CRK did a run of 'regular' blade shape, in high hardness steel, they'd have a true winner on their hands. They would at least sell dozens to the members of this forum, not to mention other collectors and fans out there. If it were an annual, maybe even more. If they sold them for say 600 bucks each, they would do 60,000 dollars worth of business with their fans. Maybe more. Seems almost worth it to me. Bring on the regular sebenza limited edition in S90V!

The heck with the future, I want to go back. The last year they made both the Regular and Classic would be good :p

I did vote for a medium. Never happen, but I've wanted one ever since I got my first Sebenza's. The small is a bit small, and the large is a bit large, though I'm fine with both as is. A 3.25" blade would hit my sweet spot though.

This is what I voted for as well. I personally don't get the "flipper" allure. I can open both my sebs with just a thumb flick

Pretty sure there is a small 25 in the works. Shouldn't be long now. Also inlayed 25s will be offered.
My vote is a large Mnandi. 3.5" blade is my dream with carbon fiber or micarta inlays

Large Mnandi 3.5 with Brown Micarta like Nyala and stone-washed blade. That would be so sweet.

Thanks for the poll (and the multiple choice-option) :)
I'm glad that there are more people thinking, that a large Mnandi should be a nice knife too.
I know the knife-nuts allways want the knife in different sizes...
A part from that I voted for my "more realistic" dream the damascus Insingo.

Maybe in the future?

Unfortunately, none of the concepts really gave me a jolt. As such, I didn't vote. I think my all time favorite Lg Sebenza blade is the regular profile, and my favorite handle (Lg or Sm) is the 21. Coupling these preferences with others, my favorite concept would be a Large Sebenza with:
  • Regular blade profile with Large Hollow Grind Technology
  • 21 handle
  • pivot bushing
  • heat-treated lock bar (yes, I have an ever-so-slight preference here over the ceramic ball)

BTW, I'd pair that with the small Seb 21 just like it is. :)

A large Mnandi! And a Mnandi Slip-joint, so I could carry it LEGALLY everywhere!

Oh, and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the inlayed LE Regulars!

Kind regards,

Jos

I thought I would bump this old poll I created last December (still active you can vote if you haven't). I recall that Damascus Insingo was one of the "future/fantasy" choices at the time. Maybe that is now a reality. I wonder if any of the other choices will now also come closer to reality.
