G10 Integral, Anyone?

I just had an interesting idea. I've seen a lot of integrals lately, with the rise of the LionSteel SR1, etc. I've seen some custom makers create some good-looking ones too, like Peter Rassenti's SNAFU. I'm especially excited for Spyderco's Rassenti Nirvana coming soon. One thing all the ones i've seen have in common is the use of titanium as the handle material.

I think they're all awesome and impressive. I think someone should try the integral design with g10! It would save a lot of cost and be much easier to machine compared to titanium. The g10 could be fitted with a steel sub-frame lock and/or a steel lockbar insert. We've seen many liner-less G10 handles that are very strong, like the Cold Steel Recons and Voyagers, so we know G10 is capable of high strength, given that the design makes the most of its mechanical properties. That's all i really had to say. Do you like the idea? Has someone already done this?

Here's a photo of the coming Nirvana...

That would be interesting.

Good G-10 is one of my favorite handle materials. I would consider such a knife.

Microtech Socom Delta. Pretty sure that's what you're referring too.

Edit: Just Googled the Integral SR-1. So integral means one solid piece for the handle that's milled?

Yupyup. Just in comparison to our everyday folding knives that typically have two handle slabs screwed together with a backspacer or standoffs in between, the integral is one piece that requires no screws to hold the handle together. This is just for others who view this thread and have never heard of this design.

The microtech socom delta isn't an integral but is still a badass knife. It looks very slim and easy to carry. I wish they offered more affordable models now below $1000 but i can't find any.

LionSteel has several integral/solid/monoblock frame folders made from titanium, aluminum, micarta and carbon fiber. The most interesting one is the TiDust where the titanium frame is formed through additive manufacturing. The micarta TM-1 has excellent texture like G-10.

SR-1, SR-2, TS-1 (TiSpine) are frame locks and the TM-1 back locks.

The Anax is an integral with a subframelock added on? If it can be done with ti I can't see why it can't be done with G10 or.... CARBON FIBER! :D

I like titanium. I like G10. I like carbon fiber.
We have seen such a wide use of titanium, but that is NOT a reason to switch.
I'm not certain just what the "integral" frame has to offer, unless fewer screws coming loose.

Same here. I love most handle materials. Fewer anything coming loose is always an engineering feat that i have come to appreciate wherever it can be accomplished.

I have the Lionsteel sr2a mini, and I was amazed that I could just unscrew the pivot without getting any blade play.. just amazing
