He will be easy to get out after you drop the cage in a lake for a bit.
Were his front paws all bruised up from setting off all the mouse traps? 
Get a good air rifle, its fun to take down them critters.
I nailed one of them with my car last night, that's a time proven way to kill them.
Here he is checking out his new digs, he's got about 18 acres of woods to roam around in.
Well done Bear Claw, no need to kill or main the animal--very good deed to give it a second chance at life.
EEKK - those things are so freakin' ugly.

This one looks like a teenager/young adult. Good thing you caugt an opossum and not a skunk!!
Getting an opossum out of the trap is fun and easy:thumbup:, can't say the same for a skunk:thumbdn:. I kinda like the smell of a skunk when you drive by a smashed one on the road, but getting covered in it is a different story!!!!:barf:
I barely got that last picture, I forgot to turn my digital camera on before I opened the trap...he took off like a scalded dog!!!

I love possums. They're like a rat crossed with an alligator. Adorable in an ugly kind of way.

Actually, and I think a lot of forum members would agree with me...that's actually pretty handsome for a Virginia possum. Most of 'em are a helluva lot uglier than that. Just nasty looking things.
i really cant beleive you let that " food " go. great with taters, carrotts, and lots of onions.
My late grandfather would trap them in his garden and keep them in a cage for a week or so, feeding them fresh water and lettuce, before eating them, but I just can't do it.
They look to much like a rat to me! :barf:
I'm with you on that, Unless it's eat or die I would set him free.
