Is there a way to buff out the scales on this knife

You could take a Dremel tool to it with a buffing or scotch Brite wheel to the blade and scales, remove the clip and do it separately. I would definitely put it to a sharpener. nice find, I keep my eye open for old Spyderco's like that also.
