Gareth Bull Custom Folder, ispired by Hinderer, CRK, Strider and Burger knives

Thanks for the kind words everyone. A quick note. I had my HRC stat wrong. Rockwell hardness should be closer to 62HRC and not 58-60. Gareth and Des Horn, a very distinguished knife maker and involved in RWL-34, confirmed.

how much did the knife cost?

Oops, I see I did not put the currency converter in my original post.

Price: R2000 for the knife, R200 for each extra scale and R3000 for the entire kit as seen.

Use the following currency converter to give you an idea on price: http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html
(convert South African Rand into what ever currency you require)
At the current exchange rate the entire kit as seen is +- $417

Gareth can be reached at: gbull1985 at gmail.com

What a gorgeous knife, live the Burgerized framelock, just curious, what is the Hinderer insprired aspect?

Sorry I reread your original post, the pocket clip it acts as the lockbar stop. Does the Clip offer enough resisteence to be an effective stop? Inwas thinking that if it was that strong it would be almost impossible to take out of your pocket.

I wont say it is equal to the Hinderer stop, but one does feel the resistance of the clip if one pushes the lock a bit further, even with working gloves on and that is addiquit for me. Of course a Hinderer stop would be great, but patent laws etc make it difficult and expensive. So Gareth went another route due to respect for Rick Hinderer, but I have an idea Gareth is trying to improve the concept.

Excellent writeup and pix. Best review I've read in a very long time. Gareth does great work. Price seems very decent, considering that you have a CUSTOM knife and not production.

True that.
Plus, besides being a great knifemaker, Gareth's also a great guy deal with.
I speak to him every now and again when i see some of his new knives and man what a nice guy!

I have got the Hunter's smaller brother the Warlock enroute to me now - just wish the post was faster

i can't even count the times i opened this thread!
has any of you got one from Gareth besides marthinus?

Ill be getting my warlock in the next 2 months, its a hard wait but I'm sure it will be worth it.

+1  Gareth is an awesome guy to deal with. I feel like a pest sending him so many emails and asking questions, but he has always said to ask as many questions as I want and always answers them extremely fast.

I'm sure this purchase will not be my last from him.
