Well.... After some time here on porch, learning much, chatting with some great individuals and of course seen some beautiful cutting instruments I think it's time I give something back.

In my traditional travels I came to purchase a Case SBJ sometime last year and it quickly became a favourite for me. It's size, construction, and utility goodness just check off all the things I want in slip joint.

I aquired another that has seen much pocket time but I cleaned it up, sharpened it and made it ready for new home. Still has some light peppering, patina, and some pitting but just like the owner before, this little guy is meant to be carried, used and thought it perfect to give to another member here on porch to fully experience what a great knife the SBJ is. :D

Rules to enter:

Only 1..
Just post a picture of a knife that you have that if you had an exact double you would like all fellow Traditional fans to experience.

Will run the GAW till next Friday (July 22)

Thanks again.

Thanks for the chance. I've never handled a SBJ, though I know they have their loyal fans.
Everyone should try a French fishtail, or queue de poisson. Lots of blade in a very compact handle.

Great prize Dan! I know cuz I have one and that's why this is not an entry. Good luck to all!
The Moki Fish Owl is so fantastic at being a light, sharp, beautifully functioning and finished knife I'd like everyone to try one.

Dan, thank you for the GAW. I haven't seen a Case SBJ in person, but your example is a lovely knife and looks like one I'd get along with very well.

The knife I wish everyone could experience is this A. Wright Lambsfoot in buffalo horn:

It is proving to be a versatile workhorse of a knife and it sees a lot of pocket time. The horn handles have also been a treat. Different light brings out different nuances in the material.

Good luck to all who enter!

I am in, and thanks for the chance! I think everyone should try a Barlow at least once.

Even though I have recently won a GAW I can't pass up an opportunity for such a great knife. Thank you so much Dan for your generosity. The knife I would love everyone to experience is not fancy nor expensive it is the humble VIC Farmer. A knife I could never see myself not owning. I can't say enough about the utility of this knife.

I once had a Swayback like that back when they were more common and kick myself for passing it on some days. Awesome Giveaway, thank you for the opportunity!

The knife that blew me away when I first handled it is the Hess Tiburon. They are handmade in Northern Michigan by further Marbles employees and show their custom-like heritage in every detail. This knife is an incredible value and anybody looking for an all-purpose fixed blade should definitely give the Hess company a strong look!

I'm in and Txs for the GAW, a wonderful gesture. Bought my first SBJ a few years ago, a Case vanadium, carried it for a while and then proceeded to go through airport security with it in my pocket, (donated a bottle of Balvenie that way once as well😢) so I hope a DHS wonk is enjoying that Case SBJ.
My idea of a classic that everyone should own? The trapper. Bought my first one at 14, (a damn long time ago) an UH but it ended up at the bottom of the Bear River marshes in an unwise attempt to wade a 12 ft. channel in hip boots. Since then I have always had at least one in my knife collection.

Not the most expensive but its in my watch pocket most of the time. I found it with the tip broke and "fixed it". I have always loved the look of the Sway Back but don't have one yet. Thanks for the chance.

What a great prize! I've been eyeing the SWJ for a while but it's just a bit too pricey for an impulse buy.

A knife that I think everyone should give a shot is the opinel no.8 - very inexpensive, very light, can take a scary sharp edge with 10 minutes on a lansky, and slices like nothing else I own.

I feel like you don't see a lot of the #15 Farm Boys around here, but I think everyone should have one. It's been my favorite traditional knife since I got it.

Not an entry, as I already have an SBJ and it's one of my favorites, but I wanted to thank you for your generosity!
