Gayle Bradley

Just got to this thread and funilly enough guess what's in my front right pocket?

Yup. My GB. +1 to all the other positives stated about this knife. I took a reasonably long time to come to appreciate it's looks. I took no time to appreciate it's function, fit and finish once I got it in my hands.

If it is within your means (and I suspect that it is hence the thread) - I highy recommend it...

can a gayle bradley out-slice a zdp endura (profiled 10 degrees either side)? my guess is the GB might perform better in medium to heavy use. but how about the usual light stuff (hair splits, push-cutting paper, slicing tuna carpaccio, etc)?

I can't see how the GB might be a better slicer than the PM2. Is the blade thinner?

The PM2 is actually not all that thin at all. You'd be surprised at just how thick it is, and there are a LOT of other knives (like the griptillian) that are ground thinner and cut better (in my opinion) - but they aren't touted as "super slicers" because they aren't FFG. It seems like people have been trained to see a FFG blade and automatically think it's super thinly ground. Not accusing you of this at all, just something I see on the forums a lot.

Just tried to order one on ebay and my paypal would not go through, dam. I will try tomorrow. Can't wait to try one!

I just got the Gayley Bradley ordered. Can't wait. Hope they are as good as everyone says! now help me sell a 550.

I use one everyday at work as an electrician. I skin large cables constantly, it eats copper and aluminum like nothing. I use it for various crap but I'd say the worst was chopping and making holes through plywood and 2x4s. It stays amazingly sharp. I only sharpen mine once or twice a year. With my previous knife I was sharpening every day or 2.

YES...get one. They are that good. Review on the site in my sig if interested.

I would say the GB is in my view one of the best Spydercos, and at <$150 an amazing bargain for the amount of knife you get.

I've carried mine most of this week.

The GB is a fantastic knife. Before I purchased mine I had expectations as to the smoothness, fit and finish, carbon fiber and blade steel and every expectation was exceeded. The one thing that I didn't anticipate was how great a slicer this knife is, due to the thin blade stock. When you combine this with the fact that the M4 can hold a very acute edge, it amounts to a great cutter.

Sure sounds like it going to be a heck of a knife! It will have to be good to equal the millie and para II.

My GB is one of only two knives that I carry long-term, the other being my Stretch CF. The GB is a great cutter and holds an edge seemingly forever. It's robust enough for tough tasks and looks great doing them. Fit and finish is outstanding, as are the ergos in my hand. You know that you need one...badly.

Great knife in every way, cpm M4 is my favorite steel right now, that or cpm S90v but the GB sharpens much easier imo. I think every knifenut should own one.

My GB is still smoother than most customs i have handled even after lots of use and a forced patina. one of my favorite knives!

I forced a patina with lime juice and it doesn't get little rust spots anymore. Took a bit of effort for the patina to take, though.

I live in damp, dark England and despite regular pocket carry on the farm I have had no rust issues whatsoever without a patina...

Just an FYI.

Oh, and despite loving my ZT0550 and my Hogue EX01 my GB is in my pocket again and has been all day...

Cheers,

Ben

Up until 5 months ago I used to rotate my one handed knives mostly between a Sage 2, Chokwe, FFG Delica, and Recon 1. Then I got a Gayle Bradley and it hasn't left my pocket since. Absolutely worth buying!

i also love my gb, the sage 1 has been on my list for awhile, but after reading all these comments im not sure if i need a sage... i might just get a str clip and im set! great knife!

The Gayle Bradley is the "M1 Garand" of Spydercos. :) A "man's folder."

Seriously... hold one and then flick it open. It's smoooooooooth and has a "thwack" that you can hear AND feel.
