I obsess about all sorts of knives, flashlights, lighters and so on. you know, like 90% of the users on here. but you can only buy so much for yourself. Also, when you upgrade something on your own EDC, what else would you do with the old item?

does your wife/girlfriend request that you set them up with gear? or do you force it upon them, like i do?

my girlfriend is 21, (i'm 24, so it's not quite AS sweet as it sounds) and has no interest in knives, or flashlights or lighters or anything of the sorts, but...i wanted her to carry a knife. so i got her a Spyderco Meadowlark. She's a bartender, so when i came across the Firebyrd, i had to buy her that as well. open customers' beers, give them a light, or threaten them...with one convenient tool. then i got her a Fenix P3D. and recently, when i got myself a Photon III (red), i gave her my Photon II in white.

in summation, my girlfriend's EDC is...
Spyderco Meadowlark
Fenix P3D
Photon II. among other things.

now... i'm a watch guy (just got a Dievas Divergraph Blue Professional) and i'm dying to get her a nice watch. but i have no idea which one. i was leaning towards to Zodiac Seadragon, but she despises anything pink.
anyone have any recommendations?

so...like the EDC thread, post any gear your special lady friend has requested, or you've forced upon her. so i can set about doing what i did for myself. buying every single neat gadget i saw.

My GF tends to get into more sh!# than anyone I've ever seen so for a little added protection I got her a kershaw G-10 leek. She did not care for it at first but now she always has it on her and likes it and it only took me 3 years to get her to carry a knife.

I recently got my girlfriend a pink BM mini-griptillian from NGK. She didn't like the idea of carrying a knife at first, but she never leaves home without it now

I just ordered a pink delica for my girl(It was the only knife that big she would agree to carry) she already carries a ladybug...

But that's too small for me to ever use. So in case I ever have to use her knife I got her the delica:cool:.

my current girlfriend isnt into guns/knives but likes lites it seems, she has appropriated a few of mine lol.

My wife carries a small dog paw Sebbie and a Streamlight T2 for EDC. When we go into the woods she takes a PE Para-Millie along.

We share the Glock 19.

My wife procured my Pygmy Falcon II on a recent trip and has also been seen using my Fatboy...I did set up her own keychain w/ Micra, Photon, mini prybar and spy capsule so mine would not keep missing.

This thread seems to be mostly about knives so far, so I'll leave it in this forum. You can start a new thread to talk about other gear in Gadgets & Gear.

Kershaw Leek in pink, an upgrade from her Chive, often she has both with her.
Victorinox Stainless Special SVU edition watch.
Executive Ice Scraper for her key ring.
On campus Kimber Guardian Angel Pepper Spray Launcher.
Off campus Kel-Tec P-11

Definitely not a woman to mess with...

Of course she is free to carry any of my knives and she does at times, she prefers my AO knives for the most part as they are the easiest to open quickly with her smaller hands. My Kershaw 1660ST is a fav with her and she has learned to wrist flick my AG Russell Folder Spear Point open as well.

The nice people at Patek Philippe can help you...

My wife equips herself. Today it's a Kahr K40 and a Benchmade Morpho. Yesterday= same gun and a Spyderfly.

my wife is constantly browsing my knife collection but, thank God, so far she only hijacked a Benchmade Mini-Dejavoo & a Spyderco Q...
she also has a Maglite Solitaire at hand
however, i try to keep my Zippos away from her, that purse is THE bermuda triangle of lighters...

I tried to get my wife to carry something, anything, for protection, but she was never interested, so I dropped it.

Don't forget that the secret to gift giving is not giving someone what you would want to have or what you want them to want. Those are terrible gifts. You are probably just annoying her. Give her something that she actually wants. How would you like it if she gave you scented candles and tea for your birthday?

My wife carried a Spyderco Harpy and Endura along with a Glock 26 in her purse today. She also has a Surefire E1 ine there. She has really done well at being prepared and learning to defend herself.

A Fallkniven U2 is her cherised one, sometimes a Blade-Tech Mouse CF. Oh, yes a Byrd Finch as a keychain.

Knifewise?
Leek, pink or rainbow. That's what I'd get for her, even though I don't have neither wife nor gf ATM.

My wife carries a kubaton when she runs, my girlfriend carries a pair of 38's and cannot run. :)

Wait just a minute!

I have no wife... or girlfriend... but I have been trying to get my mom to let me buy her a knife! I'm thinking of getting her a Kershaw Damascus Chive, but I'm not sure about the size of it... I really need to stop in a check out a Chive at Wal-Mart. I have a Spyderco Spin that is a little knife, but it'll take care of anything really... maybe I'll get her one :P but I wouldn't want to just buy another of the same knife... and she really likes Damascus...

I got my girlfriend a Spyderco Native a while back. More recently, I bought her a Fenix P2D light.

always buy girlfriends perfume and lingerie.

at least you aren't sorry later, when you break up.. that she got the nice toys.

wives get it all anyway, including the house and dog, so no way to accomplish damage control THERE, ya just gotta play the hand you get..

but with girlfriends, don't buy em cars or guns, cause the next guy gets it.

and knives i'd put right there too.

this ain't knife or flashlight advice, it's not even GIRLFRIEND advice.. it's advice on not feeling stupid later.

ask me how i know?
