What are the pulls like on these? I hope stiffer than the 18s.

I'm not really into Barlows. I just wish to say that the spear blades on these are extremely handsome.

Aww yeah, first TC for me! (First button too, I never get buttons!) I absolutely love the size of this and I'll probably have to pick up a few of the #14 boys knives when my hobby budget recovers because it's just the perfect size for me. The pull is pretty firm BearBug, a solid 7+. Definitely stiffer than my 18.

Nice yellow you have there. I am waiting for my 2 blade barlows to come in so I can decide which I like better.

Thank you. I have a Blood Cheery 2 blade as well coming today. This Yellow Wood with the satin bolsters has really grown on me. Thankful for both, and my first TC Barlows

My barlow has a lighter pull than my #18 beagle, maybe a 3 or 4. Seems there is a lot of variance.

Mine came in today and they look great. My Copperhead Sawcut one blade has a lot of "ragg bone" character on the pile side.

Those look nice. Can you please explain what "Pile Side" means. Still learning some of this traditional lingo. Thank you.

Yellow Wood came with Satin Bolsters. They look amazing with the wood chosen.

"Pile side" is simply the backside of the knife. Opposite, the shield, nail nick/pull, etc.

"Mark side" is the side of the knife that has the shield, nail nick/pull, branding identifiers, etc. Also called the presentation side sometimes.

Ahh. So for these TC Barlows it would be the non-nail nick side (except that my 2-blade 14 Barlow's have a nail nick on the pile side for the pen blade. Main blade trumps in that case). Thank you Jake

Same for me Tex Mex I've got a black cerry and a smooth Antique Yellow to pick from and it's not going to be easy.lol

Yes, the heartwood models come in satin.
