GEC #143223 Crown Lifter/Beer Cub/Barlow/Gentleman’s Jack

What's the pull like on these newer 14s? Don't think I've seen it mentioned. My apologies if so. My 14 Barlow from 2022 was quite light. Maybe a 3? 3.5? I feel like 4 might be pushing it...
My 2 are about a 4 on the mains/ sheepsfoot he caplifter is about a 6 maybe 6.5 going by the scale of a sak being a 5

That’s exactly what I have been waiting for. I love my 2022 14 Barlows, but I store them away from my 2016 and 2018 14’s because I don’t like to feel the stark difference between the two runs.

Not sure when GEC started to add Kingwood to TC after checking recent knives they did make the 19 in Kingwood
sorry if I mislead anyone

Texoma Texoma I think they can do any knife with any handle material, there's no pattern or rule. If there's any though, it can be broken any day. ;)

those 2018 14s had the a great pull, just a smidgen heavier than the 2016s, i think all mine moved on cause it was all tiny spears

Are there some of the orange that are satin and some that are polished or is it just varying light in pictures I’m seeing?

I don’t have one yet, but I’d assume they’re all satin. I don’t think I’ve ever seen GEC do a polished blade on a Tidioute.

Yeah, most GEC “rules” usually have to be followed by the qualifier “…except when they do/don’t.”

For example, “GEC never makes the exact same knife twice, except when they do.”

(A bit ironic considering I just said that they don’t do polished blades on Tidioute knives, but someone will probably turn up with one where they did, and I’ll have to add the qualifier to my statement.)

It's Bill's factory, he can do what ever he wants.
Yeah, most of the "rules" were created here. There is no list at GEC that I know of. Lol

I like this one. The second blade makes a big difference for me. I never carry my TCs from last run as they just feel too small in my hand. Don’t get me wrong, this one is still small but feels better if that make sense.

I’d say pull is a 4 on the main and a 5 on the secondary. Just a little bit more firm than my TC single clips from 2022.

I’ll try for one of the Barlows - whichever the first one I can get my paws on. But I’ll be satisfied if this the only one I’m able to get.

Hoping to get a Barlow and a lifter. I’ve never had a two blade TC.

IMG_1478.jpegIMG_1479.jpegIMG_1481.jpegIMG_1485.jpegPicked up one of the ebony TC Barlows. Normally I don't like small knives but I really like this one, I think the 2 blade sheepsfoot really makes the knife both esthetics and function. Being a 2 blade does not feel as small and delicate as the last run of single blades, the sheepsfoot is easily pinchable, both blades have very good snap and around a 5 pull, appropriate for the size of the knife. I lucked out and the ebony shows some subtle stripes in the wood.
Lot of knife in a small package.
