GEC #15 boys knife easy open?

Thanks for straightening that out, must've missed that post. Would've been more into it if it had the Smokey the Bear hat. Still shares a comparable amount of pocket time with anything else I have regardless of what I think about the stamp. Just a great knife.

There is more than one way to interpret "Scout".
I remember playing "Scout" as a young city slicker. You would imagine riding out on horseback (20" bicycle), checking for signs of the enemy! A dangerous and solo job!! But you were crucial in guiding the troops to the right places.

These Empire "Scouts" are from before or after WWI. Wish I had one back in the 1950s, instead of a plastic, whistle-handled Spaceman knife! Would have been more convincing!!

Every cutlery probably produced some knife marked "Scout" in that era, IMO.

That's beautiful Scout Charlie. Excellent example of this classic knife. What are those scale? Ebony?

There are actually two knives there ar, both Ebony-handled.

I find it hard to resist Decent Empires!

I'd love to set my hands on some ebony scales that are that old. Alas, I haven't come across any to date.

I couldn't resist.

I just got it today, and I love it. It needs sharpening, but I like to carry and handle a new knife for a few days before I put a really sharp edge on it. Helps to cut down on stitches. I could lower the sheepsfoot some day. The edge is below the scales, but not by much. If it were sharpened a lot, it might sit high, but there is room to seat lower if necessary.

That's it, I swear. No more knife buying. At least for this year :D
The #9 Esquire won't be out before January. And then that's it.

It looks like your question had been answered. To add: I have gotten out of the habit of sticking anything in my pocket with my knife. Just to protect it a little better. If I must (I normally wear cargos anyways), I'll use a pocket sleeve of some type to provide protection.
