GEC #35 Churchill Thread

I just put in my order for a Churchill in ebony. This is the knife I've been looking forward to.

I am kicking myself in the arse for not ordering a stag, I really like this pattern.
They will be around if you choose to want one. But we all have our limits. At least I have to. The Yellow Rose and Stag I am being disciplined not to spend more money on the other options. I could go on a bender if I am not careful. Haha. Who needs to pay the utility bill, right?? Haha. More knives!!!!!!

I know, the addiction only gets worse, but, this is such a nice pattern.

Can't wait to compare against my TK. If the TK would have been made with the cope/sheep, I'm not sure there would be a better knife for me.....except for that ebony TC, or maybe a 79 whittler, or.........im sick and need help. Accumulation disease is taking over.....

All I could think leading up to this release was how would this compare to a TK. It is smaller, but, I prefer the sheepsfoot to a pen blade. I would still choose the TK every time, 53/4 are the perfect size for me.

Good thinking. Just email me the full list.
Sent you a pm but it says you left the conversation permanently. Not sure what your goal is here. All the dealers that have a mailer have sent them out. You have the dealer list. You have more info than I do. Now back to the specifics on knives.

I think he's joking. It's his way of saying these Churchills are freaking awesome. :)

Actually I think I just misread his original comment on these. I read that "all" the dealers were notifying him directly and "itching" to move them and I actually wanted a list of all those dealers itching to move them so I could contact them and see if they had extra stock - since the factory did not. But I think he was actually innocently making a point that he felt they were over-produced and would be around a while - even though he had actually only received one or two communications that they were available.

But the Gabon are nice. Smooth action and pitch black. Although I am a fan of the 6-7 backspring and these are, following recent trend, more in the 5 range.

Say knifeswapper, if you don't mind, is there plenty of room between the blades or are we gonna see some rub?

Disappointing. NOT a fan of the wimpy spring trend.

They are slim. I think the blades are very close, but from what I have seen any "rub" marks will come from the user pushing the blade into the other starting the opening process. I don't think the fit is so tight they will cause rub marks on their own. But if there is a deep-seated hatred for any rub - this may not be your knife.

It does feel like a nice flow and is a rounded end. I am just more a square end, snap to attention type.

Sounds perfect in my book. I like a medium pull with no half stop. All of the larger GEC's I've had have been nail breakers, and I move on from nail breakers.
