Did a little reading, video watching and picture viewing of previous Whalers. Seems the Tidioute models have been offered with both a nail nick and long(ish) pull, thought that was interesting and I’d be curious to know what determines the decision.

Also curious about shield selection on these monsters. Possibly Tidioute, hotdog or ...? What’s your thoughts or what would you like to see?

If anyone has a 5th anniversary Whaler( engraved white bone) with the ship and whale please post some pics! I’ve always thought that was a very unique and cool looking knife.
 
How much are these # 46 whalers ? When will they be shipping ?

Thanks Barry :thumbsup: both of those examples are stellar, but that whale and ship are just classic on this pattern.

I believe the last use of Muscle Bone was on the #54 Lumber Jack anniversary knife. Unless I’m mistaken those were shieldless. I wonder if these will follow suit. Surely the iron wood will have a shield.

Me too! I have ERs in for both scale choices. Actually the muscle bone is a standby. I have wanted one of these for awhile but the price on the aftermarket was too much for me. So, I am definitely getting one and maybe both.
 
I'm gonna get a muscle bone to match my Muscle Bone #45 Lumberjack from the 2016 anniversary. I also think I'm gonna get one of the AMKC Abalone ones since I joined that club. I don't know about the other covers, but the Abalone will be shieldless.
 
It says on the production schedule the abalone will have a “bear shield”. Iron wood will have a Straight bar shield and muscle bone will have a large bomb shield. I’ll be interested to see what the bear shield will look like, but won’t be getting one as I’m not in that knife club, or any other for that matter.
