I didn't see this one on the production schedule I posted...

No, sometimes their production schedule is rather "dynamic". They don't know what bone they are going to put on some knives until it is time to slap it on.

I like the spear point but as some others have mentioned the placement of the pen blade behind the main blade would make it a pass for me.

Since they're cutting spear blades though I wonder if that version of the #72 lockback is coming soon.

Odd, I heard it was pixie dust. I'm still indifferent to it. On the one hand it looks like something from the Elvis jungle room collection. Flip side is it's odd & distinctive enough to have it's own flair. If disco comes back, I'd not want to be without one. :D

hah! Funny you should mention Elvis.
The first night I took my #48 in Glitter Gold out was for Elvis' birthday this year, The 11th Annual Chicago Elvis Fest :D
I combined my GEC handle with my Elvis painting and:

;)

The dogleg jack is a great traditional pattern with a long history, with both clip and spear main blades, as attested to in this page from the 1886 HSB catalog:

I have a #417 in my collection (with a different shield), probably made by New York Knife Co.

Now we're talkin'. This almost looks like it came out of that HSB catalog.

OK so the Northfield in Ebony does look good! The wood, swedge, and long pull all seem to fit together well.

Can't help but wonder if these are as underbladed as the clip blade models are/were.

Good point. Just look at those old catalogues to see blades with the spine in line with the spring, nice and straight.

I like this pattern but won't decide until I see a photo of one, those line drawn adverts are nice but notoriously inaccurate:eek:

I'm sure it is underbladed as well, that caused those ebony models with the clip to sell like hotcakes for Great Eastern; don't get off a winning horse :D (notice: that was meant in humor, with only enough truth sprinkled in to make it palatable)

But Bill did tell me that the blade did not come quite as close to horizontal as intended on the first run and that correcting that on future runs would bring the run-up a little higher on the backspring. And it looks quite a bit closer to straight to my eye (from pictures).

Notice that the ebony is uncharacteristically in Northfield clothes, but retained the Tidioute "hotdog" shield....

The 'sausage' shield really suits Ebony, that or a bar. A small diamond might work nicely too. Hope the wood is black.

And finally some stag!
I am more excited over this model than I have been in some time.

Just put in an order for the ebony version. I'll do a comparison (with pictures) to my clip blade primitive bone when it arrives!!

this one! Stag looks good! looks

I love GEC's for the most part but this pattern just doesn't appeal to me. Perhaps it's just me, I like curves and all.... maybe if the pattern was larger overall??

Spring green is interesting... but... I just received paypal bill for my GEC %56 Dogleg in Ebony... That darn beautiful forum knife got me hooked on Ebony... Ebony #3 for me :D
