This knife is one of the best slipjoints to carry everyday. Imo I feel as if most GEC are too nice or fancy to really use. This is the first GEC that feels like it’s meant to be used.
I keep thinking Conus is a countryUnfortunately, this one can’t swim and is looking for a home in the conus.![]()
Nice wood on that one r8shell, congrats on a cool knife.![]()
So...should I, or shouldn't I?

It's a nice pen blade, but I really do like to have a small straight edged blade for certain tasks. If a knife doesn't have one, then I will pair it with one that does. That's why my #09 Esquire gets carried so often. Of course with every new knife I buy, I think, "I could get by with just this one perfect knife" and the Pony Jack with its all-steel construction (including bolsters?) would be a great candidate for constant carry if it had a coping blade...Nice wood on that one r8shell, congrats on a cool knife.I vote no on the mod, only b/c I like the pen blade as is but if you have a need for a coping blade, then by all means. Tinkering is half the fun.

So I begged lol. Pony Jack is already a nice knife but that shield just puts the final touch for me.
It looks great with THAT shield. I don't know some others.Whoa! That looks great with a shield!
PM me, i may be able to help.I know it will darken over time, but dang, I'm really pleased with the covers on this one

There sure is a lot of variation from knife to knife, yet they all seem to have pretty well matched sides.Yipes, Stripes!! I love the way the grain is captured in this example!!
Bill has found some nice colorful handles within these Cocobolas!!
I've got one coming next week, and I'm already giving serious consideration to converting the pen into a coping blade.
