GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

two weeks ago, I saw that pre-orders were closed on this... how do you get on stand-by? Or are all those slots closed as well? This is one that I would really love to have... don't care what the covers are... I'd even take......... red......

Still on standby over here. I really think this pattern is pretty overrated, and everyone should just pass on it. I mean who really wants a Barlow, anyways?

My plan is just to pick one up to take one for the team, y’know, and clear out the queue for the next drop.

Since you are taking one for the team you could always sell me yours at cost. I'll take the black wood option lol!!
 
An idea for the next “Saw” movie.

Take all of us and put us in a room.
Gently place a 77 in the center.
Run out and lock the door.

The victor will emerge badly beaten, but the knife will come out somehow shinier, with a honed edge, and 3 new pictures will be up on the forums.

the sign up went out in July, and there was some speculation to where it was going on the calendar, but glad to see it is now.
 
The first run is still my favorite. I love this knife...

Very happy about choices here as well. Another curiosity - for me - is how many of each cover variant were made.
 
Was able to score a red. I was on the fence between red and Amber. Tough choice! I tossed a coin and it was red saw it. Can't go wrong either way. Thanks Mike for this great run.
 
This seems to be the largest batch of happy barlow customers I've seen the last few years. The previous 77 drawing style pegged you into a choice you may not have preferred. This appears to have worked out really well for the majority of folks to make a preferred pick, even if you weren't a keyboard ninja on the initial drop notification. Pretty cool. :thumbsup:

But again, I seriously would not have been disappointed if given a random assignment of these 4 choice.
 
I agree. I am very lucky to have scored an Amber sawcut.

Only thing I’m disappointed about is that the wood was rounded and not chamfered. To me rounded seems less traditional.

Because of this I went with amber and I am absolutely satisfied. I’ve been wanting one for years. Thank you CollectorKnives.
