GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

Matt, did you re-dye that 2nd run sheepfoot Tan? The scales on that look way richer in color than I remember. If mine had looked anything like that, I would of never had let it go!
I purchased the sheepfoot on the forum, as far as I know it has not been re-dyed. Looking at the picture and the actual knife it did photograph a bit on the darker side, but it does have nice color.

I got my blackwood yesterday. It's great knife, and I'm pretty sure it's a keeper because of some sentimentality I've attached to it. I am uploading a video review now, and will be (hopefully) posting a Knife Thoughts article later today. I don't have any pictures of it without a modern yet, but I will soon.

Well, here is mine. I have a decision to make about this knife. It's a great knife but I can't see it as a user. My 77 desert ironwood from the last run is in that role. My 78 American Jack is my user spear. I don't want to accumulate safe queens.

Anyway, the knife is simply awesome. It's instantly a classic with this dye job- a modern antique. The fit and finish is perfect and the talk is incredible. Snaps closed with a rumble. Great job CK and GEC! This is a knife that will be discussed for years to come.

Now, if only there wasn't that mandatory etch........perfection?

Is it my old eyes or are the pins a little proud on the bone covers?
Yes, I think the spring pins are proud on the sawcut versions. This was one primary factor in my AB choice, since I frequently use mine as fidget spinners and I much prefer not hitting a pin head all the time. They look great otherwise, I will admit.
