GEC Beagles

Got my 2 micarta beagles! Love them for office carry as they disappear in my slacks.

This oil sucker rod wood is kinda special, I think. Fantastic grain, and what an amazing story behind it.

I was wondering if anyone here had or could take and post a comparison picture including the #18 Beagle, #22 Magnum, and Case Peanut without much inconvenience?

2 out of 3 ain't bad? :o

Tell you what. Send me a #22 Magnum (your choice of covers and blades) and I'll complete the trio and post again. :D :D :D

Awesome! It looks like the main blades are neck and neck but the peanut pen has the little sheepfoot beat. Very cool, and a demonstration in how different the same pattern style can be done.

Unfortunately, in a moment of stupidity, I sold my Ebony #22 Magnum that I had modded the pen to a sheepfoot blade. I'm hoping to get another #22 before they're all gone.

I think the Beagle's sheepsfoot blade gives it an added benefit in picking carries, it's useful for coping tasks and anything a lighter-duty flat blade might be useful for. My next little project may be a two-knife slip for a Beagle and a Coyote or a peanut. :D

Camera angles can be funny this close to the objects at hand, but it looks like the Beagle's bolsters are noticeably thinner than the Peanut's, perhaps only at the edges; I can't tell if they're just plain thinner throughout.

Not a good or a bad thing, just surprising!

If someone is able to add a 22 Mag, maybe they could also add a Pemberton and make it a Quad instead of a Trio????

I really like it.

To my eye My Beagles's bolsters may be slightly thinner than my yeller Peanut's. Overall, my jigged cola beagle is pretty much the same thicknees as my yeller delrin peanut. Not really noticeable differance. really if thinner it's on the edges of the bolsters.

The yellow camel bone is pretty great. Took me a while but eventually I came around.

Agreed. I think the bolster may taper off more gradually on the Beagle and Coyote than the Case peanut, but right where the bone (or oil sucker rod :D) meets the bolsters they appear to be just about even, if the #18 doesn't have a slight thickness advantage there.

I love the feel of the peanut, but the #18 is a pretty great knife as well. I am looking into the old river log Case covers on a CV peanut - it would pair really well with my OSD Beagle. :o

That's all I need is another good idea, thanks you enabler........LOL

Didn't think I'd pick one of these up but fell to all the beautiful pic's of these Lil Gems:thumbup:
I have to say it's a really nice knife...thanks all:)

I so didn't want the jigged bone to look as good as that does. Sigh.

Gonna need a second job just to finance GEC 2016. :o

That one is definitely the best looking Beagle (in my opinion, at least). I've managed to hold out on getting one so far, but it's still tempting.
