GEC Bullnose - Black or Orange?

I know this is probably going to come down to personal preference but I figured I'd ask before pulling the trigger. My next purchase will be a GEC Bullnose but I am having a hard time deciding between the black or orange version. Every knife I own is either orange or toxic green so I do like colors, but part of me thinks black will be more office friendly since it is old school looking. Orange seems more people friendly but also can draw attention to the knife.

So my question is, is the F+F the same on the two colors? Is the only difference between the two versions the colors? I know sometimes newer versions may be a little tighter, production wise, than older, so just curious if anyone has noticed any differences between the versions. Just trying to make my decision a little easier :)

black is classier, orange is cooler. That said, buy both:D

Lol. Maybe eventually. Thats what I was thinking though. Black is classier but orange is cooler. Maybe Ill get it in black but throw on a bright lanyard so I wont have a problem finding it ever lol

I ask a question, are you only going to be using it in the office or house type of area? If so then i say go for black just to get some different colors in your collection, and like you said maybe it'll fly under people radar more often without the bright color.

But if you plan on hiking or using this knife for outdoor use then I would say orange, because if you ever so happen to drop it, then it will be a little easier to locate.

Now with the black one you could just put a bright lanyard on it, but then that defeats the under the radar thought.

I went with the orange, i just like it a little better, I also bought mine when it was called the "Redneck Tool" so really black handles were hard to find.

Thanks for the input. I will mostly be using it in the office, house, and food prep. Id like to think I would use this for outdoors and hiking but I dont have much time for that in my life right now. I do like the color of orange they put on it. Its very bright :)

I think maybe black with a bright lanyard could be more versatile since the lanyard can come and go.

Keep the opinions coming though. Always fun to talk it out before placing an order :)

I just passed the Florida Bar and was offered an associate position this afternoon so this will be a present to myself :p

I don't own a single orange knife, but when i get a Bullnose, it'll be in orange :)

I like black but if your knife falls out of your pocket alot go with the orange.:D Than again if you went with the orange, a nice patina will match well with the orange. :p

Orange with a black lanyard.

Since you've already got knives with orange covers and like them, I see no reason why you wouldn't like the Orange Bull Nose. Then again the black seems to sit well no matter it's environment. Heck, I've got both and haven't been able to pick a favorite. As you said above; it's probably just going to come down to personal preference. Either way I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

In light of what you described, I would go with black. You have the extreme colors, so keep the color classical to match the classical pattern. I am waiting to receive my Farmer Lock in Orange. I am in the opposite position of owning several (read entirely too many) knives made of classical handle materials and colors. The orange Farmer Lock is going to be my out of the ordinary purchase and I also like the practicality of its outdoor visibility. If you haven't looked at this pattern, I would recommend doing so before purchasing the Bull Nose. I love the Farmer Lock's simple, rectangular lines and spear blade, but your tastes may say otherwise. Congrats on passing the bar. Get ready to turn on the afterburners at the office. A young associate's job is a tireless one.
