GEC Bullnose - Black or Orange?

Hey! All's good. Just thought I'd restate my thoughts again for clarity.

By the look of the new cover over at GEC it looks like they're making another run of the #71 Bull Nose with Orange delrin covers with Black linen micarta covers to follow.

I really don't need another to add to my group

but who knows? I might have to add another couple.

Somebody said they were going to bring one out with Burlap micarta covers. If that's so, I might have to pick one of those up.

I'm in the same boat, ED. I don't need any more…

…but I might be tempted. I'm curious about the burlap, and how the burgundy linen Micarta will compare to the red. Plus, I don't even have one in black! :D

I picked up an orange one during the last production run. Nice and bright - easy to find when you set it down somewhere, especially in the woods.

Ya gotta get a black one.

Ya gotta get a black one.

I might. Last year's run of #71's was the first GEC pattern I collected more than just 1 or 2 of. The fact that they're so reasonably priced certainly made that easier. These knives are one of the best deals you can get from GEC.

You're right on about value.

I have an orange that rides in my hunting coat for just in case.. John:thumbup:

I think I got in early enough to secure a red, but after seeing the orange I wish I had gotten orange........

Orange micarta would be awesome. Not a fan of Delrin. I have a black micarta 1095 from the last run and an older green micarta in O1 steel.

Is the micarta grippy? It looks grippy. Surprisingly, the acrylic is not slippery at all but the micarta looks like it would feel nice in the hand.

Canvas micarta is somewhat grippy but I wouldn't say the same for linen micarta; however, it is not slippery either. I've never had a problem holding onto any type of micarta.
