Does anyone have the bail for the Bullnose? I'm looking into getting one and am wondering if it gets in the way of the blade closing.
Stu, thanks for the pic.
I have to say I really like the look of the bail, but I am not sure how useful it would really be.
I have plans on using mine quite a bit, but I think the bail could get a little uncomfortable after a while, I could be wrong though.
Only in the exchange. They were a limited run and sold out very quickly. A few have shown up so far, so if you're patient you could get lucky.
Silly question, but are any of the Bullnose knives available anywhere? Just getting into traditionals and really like the looks of this one. I fear a may be a day late and a dollar short on this one though.....
I'm almost positive they will do more runs of this knife. They have tooling to do so.
You could pick up a stainless or Carbon Case sodbuster to hold you over during the wait.
It's arrived! The first in the UK!

Well this knife has brought a smile to my faceBetter than expected, great F&F, no play and centered blade. Nice to see little details I had missed online like the fine swedging of the blade. Comfy handle but the 01 steel is the real clincher. Have gently re profiled the edge with a convex bevel (my only complaint would be the poor edge with a ding near the tip where someone has slipped and not bothered to put it right). Still, once sharp it takes a great edge and after 30 min's working quite hard with green wood it still push cuts through newsprint. That's impressive!
Great knife

Sound great to me Sam. To address your comment on the sloppy edge...I have notice that around the time GEC stated they changed their honing process I started getting knives that were sharper but had spotty edges. I went through my collection yesterday just to polish them all up and check on them in storage and the old ones all have dull edges but very consistent and much better to my eyes. I know a lot of people want their knives to come sharp, but I would rather it comes with a decent yet well executed bevel that I can work with myself. Sometimes those sloppy areas can make you have to remove more steel then just getting a good dull edge from the start. IMHO.
Glad you like it!
Kevin
I had no trouble using a Sharpmaker on mine.
I used the 15° per side setting, because I wanted to see if the blade would take it. So far, so good.
