GEC elephant ivory.

Does anyone know if Ivory covers are in the future planning for GEC knives?

Hey, Charlie! I was glad to find this old thread. Ivory was on my mind because I just sold my only ivory knife to a mutual forum friend. It's unused, but he said he'll use it lightly. I think it went to a good home. Produced in 2014.

That is a beautiful knife. Elephant ivory is stunning. Hopefully more people start sharing their ivory GEC now that this thread has popped back up. I would love to see more examples. Thanks for sharing

It is interesting, I've seen in late 19th century sheffield catalogues that elephant ivory knives were no more expensive than stag.

Consistently in old books written by white hunters in Africa, they much prefered to use warthog tusk over elephant ivory for front sight beads on their rifles. While the latter yellows and dulls over time, the former always retains its pearly white colour and vibrancy.

I can't speak to it, I have one mammoth handled knife and neither any warthog or elephant. I'd love an example of both but they're hard to come by.

OMG what a brillant thread...and an interesting moral conundrum...
Whom so ever started this thread must surely be a woke humanitarian who cares for the planet...a modest unassuming empath...basically a Saint.🥱
But boyhowdy would I ever like to get me an old Piano
