GEC help...

Speaking of reviews (of anything) that use adjectives like "amazing," or "outstanding", it is always more impressive to show than to tell. If you show what a knife can do, or show the subtleties of attention to detail, then you don't need those adjective. In fact, it will be the person watching that will be saying "Wow! that's amazing!" if you can show what makes the knife special rather than telling.

Finally arrived. Knife feels and looks great. Prefect centering and much much easier to open. I'm new to GEC so not an expert on the 1 to 10 thing but if I had to guess this seems to be about a 7. Fairly easy to open, yet still a hard snap open and shut. Unfortunately I'm not sure what was ever wrong with it, paper just says 'repaired'. Taking it to work tonight. Thanks for everyone's input

I'm curious; how's the knife ?
Took me a long time to find this thread. I wanted to see if you got your knife back.
You did.
That's a start; a good step in the right direction.

called Chris at GEC. She said that they’ve been having problems with mineral oil and to use WD 40 and told me to send the knife in.

It's stuff like that ( I used a nicer word there than I wanted to ) that makes me question the rest of the info one might get from that person.
WD 40 is mineral oil. Mineral oil causing metal to . . . what . . . swell ?
BUT
I have had WD-40 cause some rubber seals to swell due to the solvent mixed in with the mineral oil.
Don't put mineral oil on a pocket knife. Now I have heard everything.

. . . hahaha . . . anyway
How's the knife ?

The knife couldnt be better actually. Easy to open. Walk and talk is as good as any traditional ive ever owned. Centered right down the middle on both blades. I started a thread using it called patina timeline where im using only this knife for for all my cutting tasks(for the most part). 1525062702852288809298.jpg 1525062741300669283107.jpg
