GEC Lumberjack Photo

In addition to the saw looking like a poor tooth pattern, does anyone else think that using the end as a screwdriver is just begging for kinks in the blade?

Just not sure. I like the handle material (canvas/burlap micarta?). I like the the lanyard hole.

Not sure about the saw/screw driver. Guess I'll wait to someone do to a review and then not buy one.

My sentiments exactly. They might ought to start drug-testing employees at GEC HQ.

No need to get personal Buddy! If ya don't like the knife, that's fine, but you don't need to imply some one is usin drugs!

This looks like a hard baby to love. Trying to stay on a positive note though, the saw blade might be borderline useful in widening a kerf when your band mill loses a blade mid-cut. Mighty costly tool for such a job. Other than that, this one will have to be "explained to me" I think. Maybe it will all make sense then.

Not liking the knife is one thing. Let's not be casting aspersions on the folks that make them.

As my dear old daddy used to say; "One man's trash is another man's treasure"

Uh uh! On closer investigation, this thing is near 4.5" closed and not much less broad:eek: Housebrick dimensions and weight in the pocket anyone??:thumbdn:

It will be quite the collector. How big are the Sunfish / Elephant Toenails - very popular. Can't wait!

Amen to that.

I think the knife is really cool in concept. Not my cup of tea, but that don't mean much.
Look at those god-awful Lady Leg knives. They actually made more again this year. I guess they sold them all last year. Well, good for them.

I hope they keep bringing the variety. It will only be a matter of time before we see a 3.5" Trapper, or a split-spring whittler on the White Owl frame, or a Peanut, maybe a Stockman on the yet to be built 3.5" trapper frame. You know, something useful ;)

Lady Legs - every dealer has them unlike some of the other popular patterns. I'm also surprised they continue to make so many in various materials.

Just for your information the Lady Leg is a very old and popular pattern. These originated before Prohibition and were used more for a cap lifter than anything. A very TRADITIONAL Folder.

Ahem....oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I works all day....

Sorry, it had to be done.

Now, onto the knife. Yet another Sunfish pattern I will pass on, but I hope GEC sells a load of them as I want the company to remain successful.

If I collected sunfish (I don't), I'd buy one just because it's based on the Platt's pattern. I don't think it's practical but it's interesting since it's an unusual adaptation of the pattern. Collectibles seldom make sense. An $18 Case Sodbuster will cut something just as well as a limited edition Case Bicentennial Sodbuster with stag scales and a certificate of authenticity. ;)
