GEC Rendezvous 2024 Announced

You all paint a rather joyful picture.... 😏

I've been fortunate to visit the factory on a random weekday and it was a pretty humdrum affair. I think visiting with fellow knife nerds would make the experience a lot more exciting. Those of you attending this weekend, have fun! Please share some pics and let us know how things go.

Yeah sleeping in a lawn chair for two days is not fun. I was lucky some one had an extra blanket cause it got friday night going into saturday. Bourbon can only do so much.
A friend once asked me to do that for a new play station of some kind for her son, unfortunately it was a store in the seedy side of town and temperatures got below freezing,so after 15 hours or so and in the middle of the night some thugs show up to remove the people from the front guaranteed spots which I had one of and place their girlfriends in our place.yada Yada i got one of those Blu ray play stations that morning but would never do it again.next day people flipped them for 4x cost being just before Xmas.

I’m heading out tomorrow morning for a 7 hour drive to the mothership. While I would like to score a cool knife or two from the store, that isn’t really why I’m going. I have made so many great friends through this love of traditional pocket knives over the last few years, and I am really looking forward to meeting these folks.

Dang, really hoped to meet a traditional knife “rock star” at this Rendezvous. Maybe that means I just need to come out to a West Coast show like Oregon to meet you!!
OKCA is a great show! I'm sure CC will be back at Rendezvous in the near future. Either way, it is worth the trip to OR for that event :) Especially if you like beer!

We do have the best beer.

I am not biased at all. Not one bit.
Dude seriously...the best beer you don't even have to be biased. I have three empty growlers on the ready for next trip up there (Mac n Jacks!)

Can't wait to see pictures, I've seen the videos of past rendezvous. There was one video showing can't remember his name but he does the design and uses the beard comb knife, but he had one each of all the releases on display, always wondered why he never did a video himself of that display and I'm not sure if he had all the different covers for each release.

Wow, I am glad I read this thread. My lake house is about an hour away and I’ve been by the factory a couple of times and was lucky enough to get a personalized tour. It’s awesome!! I was hoping to go, but I had no idea that people camped out. I love GEC knives as much as anyone, but I can’t get excited about what sounds like chaos.

Best beer is in Belgium. :)

Good luck to all. There seems to be a lot of good stuff available.

I would love to go by the GEC factory one day, though after a few years in the army and several camping holidays in my youth I have no desire to camp out, for anything.

Maybe GEC should start offering better accommodation for older/upmarket campers, as they do in festivals :)

im surprised by that actually, guess folks are saving their wad for the actual knives. gary kifer aint no waynorth waynorth his sfas wouldve been gone like hot cakes 😂

Thanks for the compliment, Jack!! It's a nice knife, though!!!

it certainly is, and if i was there, i likely wouldve considered it being single blade and smooth white bone. always liked the tie fighter shield or bon bon shield however you look at it. But if i was chasing that single blade, it would be that canadian maple, a throwback to my bowling days!

All that did was force you to now hunt down the Heart and the Club. 🤣
