Would love to know what pattern of gec's you think best suits you and why! Show pics of your pocket friends!!!!

Of all the GECs that I have purchased, this is by far my favorite (and my favorite slipjoint overall)

Why? It's hard to give an exact reason. I love the ebony, and the pattern just speaks to me. Before this, I was a complete stockman fan, but that has changed.

My favorite is the #53 Cuban. I know it's large at 4-1/8" closed, but I'm a big guy and don't mind just shoving one in my right front pocket. My current EDC is one in cracked marble acrylic (first up) followed by some others.

And I really like both, but actually I think the#66 serpentine jack could be my favorite GEC pattern, I'm looking forward for the next run

Honestly, none of them fit me very well, but I do like them and have a few great examples. I find their handle material to be a little above the rest, especially genuine stag. After sharpening, I dont know if I am the only one, but I have had a hard time putting a very sharp edge on their 440C.

That's exactly why I got rid of all my GECs with 440C. Just can't get a really good sharp edge on them.

Of all the GEC knives I have, this is my favorite.

This is my favorite to carry.

This has done the hardest work of any GEC knife I have. It's a real bear. Very strong and effective Spear blade. I used this knife to winterize my place. That spear blade cut radiator hoses, hydraulic hoses, and all manner of other things. The sheepsfoot blade scraped hydraulic flanges and dried radiator hose glue off radiator fittings, etc.. This knife is perfect for any shop setting - commercial, or home.

No worries..........#85 Bullet End Jack (Tear Drop Jack ) which could/can be found as a spear, spear and pen combination or spear and harness blade combination........and as the 2011 Bladeforums knife....

I'll second the Conductor.
I wish they would focus on a few more "pocket friendly" models.
Most of their knives are kind of chunky. That's not a bad thing, but they could use a few slimmer models IMHO.

The bolsters are silver, need a better camera.

The Bullet End Jacks I'm seeing don't have that false-edge, which I'm really attracted to in traditionals. Mind PMing me where you find your GECs?

The GEC #66 Serpentine Jack has become my very favorite knife during the time. It´s great in hand an in pocket, imo.

I really like the other pattern I have very much. Like #73, #85, #33, #12 etc etc

You know how often I have commented on this knife, it even inspired my choice of bone color for a rehandle job on an old Camillus jack. Now I hope to join you in appreciating the 66 jack knife. I will have one on the way to me soon, and I am eager for its arrival.

Doug - you won´t be disappointed in any way... I saw your work on the rehandling of this old Camillus Jack. Really a nice work :)

The #66 Serpentine Jack is a very good example of a historic pattern that has been there a long time before. Trust me, Doug - you´re gonna love it.

Gec #54 Moose, it is a solid and dependable knife with two full size blades, I keep the clip shaving sharp and the spear sharp with a more obtuse angle.
